71-/4 S? <br />.0 <br />, _ 2 _ <br />office of the Clerk of Council, be and the same are hereby adopted and confirmed <br />and that there be and are hereby levied and assessed upon the lots and lands set <br />f'orth in said list of final assessments the several amounts reported as aforesaid, <br />which assessments are in proportion to the special benefits and are not in excess <br />of any statutory 13mitation. <br />Section 2, That the assessment against eaeh lot or parcel of land shall be <br />payable i.n cash within thirty days after the passage of this ordinance or at the <br />option of the owner in twenty a.nnual or forty semi-a.n.nua,l installments with in- <br />terest at the same rate as shall be borne by the bonds to be issued in anticipa- <br />tion of the collection of the same. All cash payments shall be made to the <br />Director of Finance of this Cityo Al1 assessments and installments thereof re- <br />mai.ning unpaid at the expiration of said thirty days shall be certified by the <br />Clerk of Council to the County Auditor as provided by law to be pla,eed by him on <br />the tax duplicate and collected as other taxes are collected. <br />? Section 3. That the Clerk of Council shall cause a notice of the passage of <br />this ordinance to be published once in a newspaper of general circulation in this <br />City and to conti.nue on file in his office said revised assessmentso <br />. <br />Section 4. The Clerk of Council is hereby directed to deliver a certified <br />copy of this ordinance to the County Auditor within twenty days after its passage. <br />Section 5, This ordinance is hereby declared ta be an emergency measure <br />necessary for the immediate presqrvation of the public peacel hea,lth and safety <br />of said City and for the further re,ason that the immediate levy of such assess- <br />ments is necessary to permit the issuance of bonds to provide funds to retire out- <br />standing notes and thereby protect the credit of the City; wherefore, this ordi- <br />nance sha11 be in f'ull force and effect fran and i.mmediately after its passage <br />and approval by the Mayor. <br />Passed; <br />Attest; <br />Nora T.
