<br />. <br />?J <br />CITY UF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 64 Page 2 <br />be and t}ie same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Section 20 of Ordinance IVo. 315 8( Title Three, <br />Chapter 913., Section 913.20) Grease, Oil and Sand Interceptors, <br />All food establishments which maintain a kitchen or cather <br />facilities for the preparation of food shall be required to have a 1, 000 gailon <br />capacity grease-trap (grease interceptor), said grease-trap sha11 be installed <br />at least ten (10) feet from the building wherein the food is prepared, and <br />, said grease-trap (grease interceptor) shall be cleaned at least every three <br />moraths or sooner, evidence of said cleaning to be exhibited tv a member <br />of the service depsrtment upon request, and further grease and oil and <br />sand interceptors shall be provided when, in the opinion of the 5ervice <br />Director, they are necessary for the proper handling of liquid wastes containing <br />grease in excessive amounts, or any flammable wastes, sand and other harmful <br />inqredients, except that such interceptors shall not be required for private <br />living quarters or dwelling units. All interceptors shall be of a type and capa-- <br />city approved by the Service Director, and shall be located as to be readiiy <br />accessible for cleaning and inspection. <br />Grease and oil interceptors shall be constructed of imper- <br />vious materials capable of withstanding abrupt and extreme changes in temperature <br />They shall be of substantial construction, watertight and equipped with easzly <br />removable covers which, when bolted in place, shall be gastight and wateztight. <br />Where installed, all grease, oiI and sand interceptors sha11 <br />be maintained by th? Dwiier, at his expense, in continuously efficient operation <br />at all times. <br />Section 2. That Section 20 of Ordinance No. 3158 <br />(Title Three, Chapter 913, Section 913 . 20 Codified Ordinances) and any <br />ordinances or resolutions or parts of Ordinances or Resolutions incon-sistent <br />or in conflict herewith are hereby repealed with the effective date of this <br />ordinance. <br />Section 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an <br />emergenc;y measure necessary for the immediate preservation caf the public <br />peace, health and safety of said City by virtue of the fact that the grease <br />deposits within the sewer system of the City of North Olmsted endanger the <br />health and welfare of the citizens; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take <br />effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the <br />earliest period af time allowed by law. <br />PASSED:_ I '.Z I 1 1 (cty <br />AT'I'E ST: <br />Margaret T.
