. ?J CITY UF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 64 Page 2 be and t}ie same is hereby amended to read as follows: Section 20 of Ordinance IVo. 315 8( Title Three, Chapter 913., Section 913.20) Grease, Oil and Sand Interceptors, All food establishments which maintain a kitchen or cather facilities for the preparation of food shall be required to have a 1, 000 gailon capacity grease-trap (grease interceptor), said grease-trap sha11 be installed at least ten (10) feet from the building wherein the food is prepared, and , said grease-trap (grease interceptor) shall be cleaned at least every three moraths or sooner, evidence of said cleaning to be exhibited tv a member of the service depsrtment upon request, and further grease and oil and sand interceptors shall be provided when, in the opinion of the 5ervice Director, they are necessary for the proper handling of liquid wastes containing grease in excessive amounts, or any flammable wastes, sand and other harmful inqredients, except that such interceptors shall not be required for private living quarters or dwelling units. All interceptors shall be of a type and capa-- city approved by the Service Director, and shall be located as to be readiiy accessible for cleaning and inspection. Grease and oil interceptors shall be constructed of imper- vious materials capable of withstanding abrupt and extreme changes in temperature They shall be of substantial construction, watertight and equipped with easzly removable covers which, when bolted in place, shall be gastight and wateztight. Where installed, all grease, oiI and sand interceptors sha11 be maintained by th? Dwiier, at his expense, in continuously efficient operation at all times. Section 2. That Section 20 of Ordinance No. 3158 (Title Three, Chapter 913, Section 913 . 20 Codified Ordinances) and any ordinances or resolutions or parts of Ordinances or Resolutions incon-sistent or in conflict herewith are hereby repealed with the effective date of this ordinance. Section 3. This Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergenc;y measure necessary for the immediate preservation caf the public peace, health and safety of said City by virtue of the fact that the grease deposits within the sewer system of the City of North Olmsted endanger the health and welfare of the citizens; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period af time allowed by law.
