<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 64- a <br />BY ? <br />? ()UXAN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE <br />MEMBERS OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY TO BE ELECTED, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the amount of time <br />necessary to effectively carry out the duties of Members of Council of the <br />• City of North Olmsted is increasing steadily as the population of the City is <br />augmented by new citizens moving into the city, and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has determined <br />that the compensation -of the Members of Council in the City of North Olmsted <br />should be increased commensurate with the compensation paid to elected <br />Members of Council in other adjoining communities, and <br />WHEREAS, C',ouncil has accepted the recommendations of the <br />Finance Cornmittee and hereby wishes to increase the compensation of the <br />NTemr,ers of Courcil elected in the municipal election to be held in 1965, all in <br />acrordarice wi*h Artic.le tV, SPCtlOTI 6 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />• City of North Olmsted, Count,? of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio: <br />Section l: Council does hereby establish, for the purpose <br />af nominating and electing the Members of Council of the City and fixing the <br />compensat;on of the Members of Council to be elected in the Municipal election <br />in 1965, that the salary of the elective Members of Council to be filled in the <br />election in shall be $2,000.00. <br />• Section 2: That Ordinance No. 61-38, enacted February <br />21, 1961, and any other ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict with this <br />ordinance is hereby repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance. <br />Section 3: WHEREFORE, this Ordinance is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure and such emergency exists by virtue of the neces- <br />sity of notifying the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County of the salary of <br />the Members of Council to be filled under the provisions of this Charter in <br />the tiovember election of 1965, in order for said Board of Elections to establish <br />the filing fees for the office of Members of Council, which filing date expires <br />March 3, 1965. <br />Section 4: WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect <br />immediately upon and after its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period <br />• allowed by law. <br />PASSED: <br />Francis J.
