CITY OF NORTH OLMSTEU RESOLUTION NO. 64- BY 1N L-34- ?t A RESOLUTIOIV AUTI4ORIZING THE DIREC.?'TOR i:)F PUbi,IC SERVIC;E AND PUBLIC SAt`FTY TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR PORTABLE TRiICK SCALES FOR OSE WITHIN THE G'ITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AN D DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. • WHEREAS, Council of the City of North Olmsted, has received many complaints regarding the overloading of motor vehicles which travel upon the streets of North Olmsted, and WHEREAS, Council has been further advised by the Director of Public Service and Public Safety that said overloading of motor vehicles account for mi ch of the damage done to streets within the City of North Olmsted, and WHEREAS, Gouncil is determined to prohibit the unnecessary wear and tear upon the streets of the City of North Olmsted, and therefore maintain the streets in a proper condition for the citizens of the City of NoRh Olmsted and those who wish to traverse the same. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: Section 1: That the Director of Public Service and Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for portable truck scales in accordance with the plans and specifications now on file in his office. Section 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health safety and welfare by virtue of the fact that the streets within the City of North Olmsted are being subiected to undue hardship and unnecessary wear and tear caused by motor vehicles carrying loads which weigh in excess of those permitted by the ordinances of the City of North Olmsted; WHEREFORE, this Resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law.
