CITY OF NORTH OLMSTEU <br />RESOLUTION NO. 64- <br />BY 1N L-34- <br />?t <br />A RESOLUTIOIV AUTI4ORIZING THE DIREC.?'TOR i:)F PUbi,IC <br />SERVIC;E AND PUBLIC SAt`FTY TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR <br />PORTABLE TRiICK SCALES FOR OSE WITHIN THE G'ITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, AN D DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />• <br />WHEREAS, Council of the City of North Olmsted, has received <br />many complaints regarding the overloading of motor vehicles which travel upon <br />the streets of North Olmsted, and WHEREAS, Council has been further advised by the Director <br />of Public Service and Public Safety that said overloading of motor vehicles <br />account for mi ch of the damage done to streets within the City of North <br />Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, Gouncil is determined to prohibit the unnecessary <br />wear and tear upon the streets of the City of North Olmsted, and therefore <br />maintain the streets in a proper condition for the citizens of the City of NoRh <br />Olmsted and those who wish to traverse the same. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the <br />City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That the Director of Public Service and Public <br />Safety be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for portable truck <br />scales in accordance with the plans and specifications now on file in his office. <br />Section 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health <br />safety and welfare by virtue of the fact that the streets within the City of <br />North Olmsted are being subiected to undue hardship and unnecessary wear and <br />tear caused by motor vehicles carrying loads which weigh in excess of those <br />permitted by the ordinances of the City of North Olmsted; WHEREFORE, this <br />Resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, <br />otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED <br />ATTEST: <br />i Margaret T.
