I <br />? <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING SECTION 1227.01 ENTITLED <br />"GENERAL LOCATION" OF CHAPTER 1227 ENTITLED <br />"SUPPLIIMENTARY REGULATIONS" OF TITLE 20 ENTITLED <br />"SIGNS", OF THE ZONING CODE OF Tf-1E CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED. <br />WI-EREAS, after careful consideration it has been determined that it <br />would be in the best interest o£ the public, health, safety, and welfare of <br />the citizens of North Olmsted that all signs should be located na closer than ten (10) <br />feet from the public right-of-way. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF 1'HE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STAT'E OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Section 1227.01 of the Zoning Code entitled "General <br />Location" w ic now reads: <br />"1227.01 General Location <br />Any sign shall not project over or obstruct the rec{uired windows <br />or doors of any building, attached to or obstruct a fire escape or <br />interfere with other safety provisions as may be further regulated <br />in the Building Code. <br />Unless regulated otherwise in the Traffic Code, signs shall not <br />be erected so as to obstruct traffic control lights, signs at street <br />intersections, sight lines within street lines, or signals at rail- <br />road grade crossings." <br />be and the same is hereby amended and as amended shall read as follows: <br />Any sign shall not project over or obstruct the rec{uired windows <br />or doors of any building, attached to or obstruct a fire escape or <br />interfere with other safety provisions as may be further regulated <br />in the Building Code. <br />Unless regulated otherwise in the Traffic Code, signs shall not <br />be erected any closer than ten (10) feet from the public right-of-way, <br />nor shall any sign be erected so as to obstruct traffic control lights, <br />signs at street intersections, or sight lines within street lines. <br />SECTION 2: That after submission of this Ordinance to the Planning <br />Corrmtissim of the City for its opinion and recomendation, and after a public hearing <br />hereon, notice of which has been given pursuant to Section 14 of Article IV of the <br />Charter of this City, entitled "The Council-Enactment of Zoning Ordinances and <br />Regulations, Notice", and after its passage pursuant to the Charter of this City <br />and its approval by the D4ayor of this City of North Olmsted, said ordinance shall <br />be adopted as further provided herein. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and <br />after the earliest period allowed by law and the Charter of this City. <br />REFERRED TO PLANNING COMMISSION: AfA,GGdf!, ` 12J4:1 <br />Report of Planning Cormnission: On the <br />Planning Commission recommended to uncil at is rCTdinance be: <br />Approved: Disapproved ? <br />SECOND READING : lZ169'9 <br />PUBLIC I-IEARING: -P-1,979 <br />THIRD READING:
