LOGAN <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DIRECTOR OF <br />HIGHWAYS QF THE STATE OF OHIO TO DETERMINE <br />AND DECLARE THE REASONABLE AND SAFE PRIMA <br />FACIE SPEED LIMTT ON BROOKPARK ROAD (STATE <br />ROUTE 17) FROM THE EASTERN CORPORATE LIMIT <br />WEST TO LORAIN ROAD (STATE ROUTE 10) AT <br />35 MILES PER HOUR, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Administration and Council recognize the fact <br />that the area on either side of Brookpark Road (State Route 17) <br />has in the past several years been greatly developed, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council also recognizes that Brookpark Road <br />feeds into State Route 10 which has a posted speed limit of 25 Miles <br />Per Hour, and <br />WHEREAS, the Administration and this Council believe the present <br />speed limit of 50 Miles Per Hour on Brookpark Road is unreasonable <br />and unsafe, and <br />WHEREAS, this Council is desirous of having the prima facie <br />speed limit on Brookpark Road (State Route 17) from the eastern <br />corporate limit west on Lorain Road (State Route 10) changed from <br />50 Mi1es Per Hour to 35 Miles Per Hour. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION l: That the Council of the City <br />hereby requests the Director of Highways of the <br />make a study of Brookpark Road (State Route 17) <br />corporate limit west to Lorain Road (State Rout <br />the prima facie speed limit can be changed from <br />35 Miles Per Hour. <br />of North Olmsted <br />State of Ohio to <br />from the eastern <br />e 10) to determine if <br />50 Miles Per Hour to <br />SECTION 2: That the Clerk of this Council is hereby directed <br />to send a request to the Director of Highways pursuant to Ohio Revised <br />Code Section 4511.21, together with a copy of this Resolution, asking <br />for a determination and declaration. <br />SECTION 3: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure immediately necessary for the preservation of the <br />public health, safety and welfare, and for the further reason that <br />it is necessary for the proper and safe regulation of traffic within <br />the City, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of <br />two-thirds of all members elected to Council, it shall take effect <br />and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor <br />PASSED : February 7, 1978 <br />ATTEST: <br />Nora T.
