RESOLUTION N0. l ` ~ T <br />By Mr. '1-r~/y~rvl/ <br />To petition the Congress of the United States to amend H.R. 6400. <br />WHEREAS, there has been introduced, and is now pending in <br />the Congress of the United States, H. R. 604, entitled, "To ems. <br />tend and improve the Federal.old-age and surirl.wrs insurance <br />system, to amend the public assistance and child welfare pro- <br />vision of the Social Security Act, and for other purposes"; and, <br />WIiEREAS, it is the sense of this Council that the passage <br />of this Bill in its present fora will have a tendency to destroy <br />or greatly endanger the effective working of the Public Employes <br />Retirement System of the State of Ohio, which includes 27,3b2 <br />municipal employees throughout the State of Ohio, and including <br />30 employees of the Village of North Olmsted; now therefore, <br />BE IT RESOLVED HY THE COUNCIL OF THE VILLAGE OF NORTH DLMSTED <br />That this Council hereby petitions the Congress of the <br />United States to so amend said H. R. 6400 to provide total eu•• <br />clusion, fr0m the operations of said Bill, all public employees <br />now or hereafter covered by the Public Employes Retirement <br />System of Ohio, and, <br />BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this resolution be <br />mailed to Honorable Robert A. Taft and Honorable John W. Bricker, <br />the ttao Senators fmm Ohio, and to Honorable Frances P. Bolton, <br />Representative of the 22nd Congressional District of Ohio, <br />and Congressman--at-large, Stephen M. Young, and to Senator <br />Walter F. George, Chair®an of the Senate Committee on Finance, <br />and to Representstive Robert L.
