BY: Mr. <br />ORDINANCE N0. o~.~ ~' 6 <br />AN ORDINANCE PROVIDING FDA SUPERVISION <br />OF SIDEWALK CONSTRUCTION BY ,PROPERTY <br />OWNERS. <br />No person, firm or corporation, except in cases of new <br />developments or in streets where special assessments are to be made, <br />shall install or construct sid~ralks in or on any public street or <br />highway or other public property without first obtaining a permit <br />to do so from the Director of Public Service. <br />The Director of Public Service shall demand and receive <br />a deposit of the sum of Forty Dol]rars (10.00) before the issuance: <br />of any such permit to insure the payment of exgineering costs, <br />supervision and inspection for the construction of such sidewalks <br />in accordance with City specifications. <br />Upon the completion of such sidewalk installation and <br />construction and approval the City, any balance remaining in <br />said deposit shall be returned to the lawful owner or party making <br />such deposit. <br />Any violation of this Ordinance shall be deemed a mis- <br />demeanor and shall be fishable by a fine not exceeding Forty-Wine <br />Dollars ~~J~9.00) and costa, Each day's violation s~a,ll be deemed <br />a separate offense and punishable accordingly. <br />This is an emergency measure necessary for the public <br />health, peace, safety and welfare and to provide for the proper <br />installation and construction of sidewalks by property owners. <br />PASSED: November 7 , 1956. <br />ATTEST: <br /> <br />APPROVED: <br />C ar es . wis,`Mayor <br />Cic1J <br />~~b~b;~~ <br />
