RESOLUTION NO. 2333• <br />BY: Mr. Decker. RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DIRECTOR <br />OF HIGHWAYS TO DS'$I~LCNE A~ DECLARE <br />A REASONABLE AH'D SAFE SPEED LIMIT ON <br />COLUMBIA ROAD, STATE ROUTE 252, AT <br />BOEDECKER HILL, IN THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, OHIO. <br />WHEREAS, this Council has determined upon the basis of the <br />high accide ~ experience, engineering and traffic investigations can- <br />ducted by the Safety Committee, the Chief of Police a~ City Engineer, <br />that the prima face lawful speed on Columbia Road from the southerly <br />Gity line for a distance of approdimatelp 15®0 feet northerly, known <br />as Boedecker Hill, State Route 252, in said City, is a speed greater <br />than is reasonable or proper, .having due regard to the traffic, snr- <br />face and width of said state highway, to perma.t an operator of a motor <br />vehicle to bring such motor vehicle to a stop within the a seared clear <br />distance ahead, a ~ that said present prima-facie lawful speed is <br />greater than is reasonable and safe under the conditions found to exist <br />at such location, and <br />WHEREAS, there is a steep hill and sharp curve at such location, <br />located in a residential area. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OL~ISTED, STATE OF OHIO: <br />Section 1. That the Director of Highways be and he is hereby <br />requested to et~ne and declare a reasonable and safe prima-facie <br />speed limit at such location, to-wit, by reducing said prima-facie <br />speed on Boedecker Hill on C©lumbia Road in said City from thirty-five <br />miles per hour to s. prima-facie speed of twenty miles per hour, in <br />accordanaee with the provisions of Sections 4511.01 to 4511.7$., inclusive, <br />and 4511.99, and particularly Section 4511.21 of the Revised Code. <br />Sectio,~ 2.
