AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND CONTRACT OF THE ~`"'~1 OF "'~'``~ WITH THE CLEVg'LAND ELECTRIC ILLUMINATING COMPANY RELATING TO STREET LIGHTING SERVICE AND TO RATIFY AND CONFIIM THE EXISTING CONTRACT IN ALL OTHER RESPECTS. WHEREAS' the Municipality entered into a contract for street lighting service with The Cleveland Electric Illvminating Company authorized by Ordinance No. s o ®~ ,passed -~~-~- <<. i 9 ~`-~ WHEREAS, in order to avoid the expense which would be imrolved in cancellation and procedures for entering into a. new contract, the Illuminating Company has proposed that i,n 1i.eu of such cancellation the existing contract be amended and continued in effect for the remainder of the contract terms _ _ and such amendment would be in the best interests of the ~~ of a NOW', THEREFORE a BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the P~-~-, of ~~ µ b Ohio: SECTION I, That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency ordinance in that it is necessary to provide for the public peace, health and safety by supplying electric lighting service and pertains to the usual and daily opera- tion of a municipal department. SECTION II. That said contract authorized by Ordinance X10. be and the same is hereby amended to~ provide that beginning March 1, 1955, and for the remainder of the contract term thereafter, the provision for discounting monthly bills at the rate of 6~ sha71 be eliminated and so that beginning on said March 1, 1955, all bills by said Company to the ~-~~ of ~f"~rr.4~1 CTIG~wa-~-d , Ohio' for such service shall be payable in the proper amounts billed and without a discount, and the said contract entered into pursuant to said Ordinance passed 19 , be and the same is hereby ratified confirmed and continued in effect for the remainder of the contract term in all other respects excepting only as herein expressly modified,
