20. <br />the provisions hereof, - be continubd; but if such nearco`brsd twe is <br />discontinued, any Future use of said land shall. be in conformity with the <br />provisions of this ordinance. <br />(b) The. lawful use of a building or structure, existing at t}mz time <br />of the adoption of this ordinance, or of an amertdcm~t thereto, although such <br />use dyes not conform to the provisions hereof, ~y be continued and such use <br />may be elxtended throughout the building., provided no structural alterations <br />are made, other than those ordered by an authorized public officer to assure <br />the safety of the building or structure; and provided further that such ex~- <br />tendon does nbt displace any residence use in a Sesidenee District eetab~- <br />fished bq phis ordinance. <br />(c) A fion-+~onfoi~aing use o~ a building maJ be changed to another n~- <br />contormitig use of the same or of a mare restrictive classification, provided <br />no structural alterations are mede, other than those ordered by an authorised <br />public officer to assure the safety of the building or structure; and pro- <br />vided further that such eactension does not displace any residence use in a <br />kesidence District established by this ordinance. <br />(d) Whenever a r~on--conforming use of a building has been aged to <br />amere-restricted use or to a conforming use, such use shall not thlsrasfter <br />be changed to a less restricted use, <br />(e) Whenever anon-conforming use of a building, or portion tl!tereot, <br />hss been discontinued for a period of at least one (i) year, such nonr.confors~ <br />ing use shall not thereafter be re-established, and the future shall be in <br />conformity with the provisions of this ordinance. <br />Section 2, R,gPIk~S AND R&STORATIUNS OF' 8ti[I~~IS 0~' N~-~C'f1~N <br />tISE. - -- <br />(a) Northing in this Article shell prevent the streheng or res- <br />toration to a safe condition of any structural part of acgr building dec7~-red <br />unsafe by- the Building Cos~ssianer or other authorised official or <br />of the City.
