(~~-3~ <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTBD <br />))~~~ RESOLUTION No. 63-171 <br />gy ~%~ . /~j~d-ve ~ --at. ~ w- <br />~~ <br />A RBSOLUTION REQUBSTTNG THE STATE OF OHIO, DBPARTMBNT <br />OF HiGHNTAYS, TO PBRMIT RE-LOCATION OF THE 1SBNT <br />AGCBSS POINT TO HltOOK PARK R (A LIMITED ACCBS3 <br />STATE HIt~AY) FROM THE INTER3IK;TION OF FLBTY <br />AVENUE AND SAID HIGH~PAY TO A POINT ?08.74 I~BBT BAST <br />(THE CBNTBR LIMB OF PIN OAK I#tIVE, PROPOSBD). <br />1~IERBAS, Br®okpark Road is a limited access <br />state highway to which access is presently permitted at the inter- <br />section of Fleharty Avenue and said Brookpark Road; and <br />MiHBRBAS, Fleharty Avenue has developed as a <br />single residence area with only a twenty-four (24) foot paved <br />roadway, and <br />WHEREAS, the growth of the Great Northern <br />Shopping Center on the south side of Hrookpari~ Road has brought <br />about a great increase in traffic coming from the north and east <br />from Lorain Road t@ Brookpark Road and a wider, heavier access <br />road is necessary to safely handle the volume of traffic antici- <br />pated in connection with the future development of the Great <br />Northern Shopping Center; and <br />WHEREAS, this Council and the administration of <br />the City of North Olmsted intend to provide a new road (Pin Oak <br />Drive, proposed) with a 70 foot right-of-way and a 44 foot pave- <br />ment between Lorain R®ad and P~rookpark Road, the centerline of <br />which would be 708.74 Bret ea4t of the center line of the present <br />access point at Pleharty Avenue, providing the State of +dhi® will <br />permit re-iacation of Much access. point and the elimination and <br />discontinuance of the access point at Fleharty Avenue. <br />NOI~i, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council <br />of the City of North Op ted, State of Ohios <br />Section is That the State of Ohio, Department of <br />Highways be and is hereby respectfully requested to permit the <br />re-location of the present access point to Brookpark Road at the <br />intersection of Fleharty Avenue and Brookpark Road to a point <br />708.74 feet east of the centerline of Fleharty Avenue which new <br />point will be the centerline of Pin Oak Drive, proposed, with a <br />70 foot right-of-way and a 44 foot pavement and the discontinuance <br />and elimination of the present access point at Fleharty Avenue. <br />That an engineer's sketch of the area with <br />all points clearly indicated, is attached hereto and made a part <br />hereof. <br />Section 2: WHERBFORE, this Resolution shall take effect <br />immediately from and after its passage, otherwise, at the earliest <br />period allowed by law. ~ ~ ;, <br />~, ;.~ <br />PASSED: ~~~~ ~ ~ ~, ;; /~~' /y''~,~' " ~ l'~~• 'Z.~_.~.~„~(:.. <br />t~ l race Mac ono d, ressdent <br />A of Counc 31 <br />--~-t ~ ,~-<`- <br />L uise Hall, Clerk o c-unc 1 <br />APPROVED: `~ <br />tJ <br />1/ ,.
