CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> <br />ORDINANCE No. 63 `"/~~ ~ <br />AN ORDINANCE ESTA~3LISHING A TRANSPORTATION ALLOWANCE <br />FOR THE MAYOR AND THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this City has been unable to furnish <br />transportation for official business trips within the limits <br />~~- of the City of North Olmsted for either the Mayor or the Director <br />of Public Service and both have, up to this time, found it necessary <br />to use their personal automobiles at their own expense for such <br />transportation; and <br />WHEREAS, both the Mayor and the Director of Public <br />Service will continue to have many occasions to travel within the <br />City in the conduct of the normal duties of their offices; and <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the reasonable <br />value of such transportation is properly an expense of the City <br />and has studied the figures on the volume of such transportation <br />necessary to the performance of the duties of both offices; and <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that for the office <br />of Mayor the reasonable value for such transportation is Seven <br />Hundred Dollars C$700.00) annually and for the office of Director <br />of Public Service Four Hundred Dollars ($400.00) annually. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of <br />the city of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That there is hereby established a transporta- <br />tion allowance for the official business trips inside the limits <br />of the City of North Olmsted for the office of Mayor and Director <br />of Public Service as follows: <br />(a) For the office of Mayor a transportation <br />allowance of $700.00 per year payable at the rate of <br />one-twelfth of said amount on the first day of each <br />calendar month with a proration of said monthly <br />allowancefor any period less than one month. <br />Cb) For the office of Director of Public Service a <br />transportation allowance of $400.00 per year payable <br />at the rate of one-twelfth of said amount on the first <br />day of each calendar month with a proration of said <br />monthly allowance for any period less than one month. <br />Section 2: That the transportation allowance herein <br />established shall go into effect as of the effective date of this <br />Ordinance. <br />Section 3: That this Ordinance is hereby determined to <br />be an emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public <br />welfare, peace, health and safety of the City by virtue of the fact <br />that this Ordinance has to do with the daily operation of a regular <br />municipal function. which has been recognized as a proper expense <br />for the City; WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect and be in <br />force immediately upon its passage, otherwise, at the earliest <br />period allowed by law. ,~-~ r <br />PASSED: .~ ~ c C^ ~ ~~ -> ~1. <br />..resident, o-tem <br />ATTF.~ e of Council <br />Louise Hall, Clerk of council <br />.L~ <br />,~ <br />APP Dz ,~;~~"'+ ,~ ~,~,: , <br />. a , y r <br />.. <br />~,.. <br />,. v_~_ ~ _ ~ . ~..~ . -, <br />
