CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 64- ~ 3 <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DEPARTMENT OF HIGHWAYS, <br />STATE OF OHIO TO MAKE A SURVEY OF THE POSSIBLE RELOCATION <br />OF COLUMBIA ROAD FROM THE NORTHERLY CITY LIMITS OF THE <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO THE SOUTHERLY CITY LIMITS OF <br />THE CITY OF NORTH OLMS'I`ED, ALL WITHIN THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted and <br />the Planning Commission of the City of North Olmsted believe that a main <br />arterial highway is necessary between I. 90 in the northern part of <br />Cuyahoga County and I. 80 in the southern part of Cuyahoga County, and <br />WHEREAS, State Route No. 252 (Columbia Road) has been prograultned <br />1'or widening to eighty feet in the City of Westlake from I. 90 to Center <br />Ridge Road, and <br />pHEREAS, negotiations are well under way for the dedication of <br />an eighty foot right-of-way, known as Pin Oak Boulevard within the City <br />of North Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, the location of Pin Oak Boulevard and Great Northern <br />Boulevard, proposed, are such that they can readily be utilized as <br />part of Route 252 if said Route 252 is relocated, and <br />WHEREAS, Council has decided that the relocation of State Route <br />252 would be beneficial to both the State of Ohio and to the City of <br />North Olmsted, Council hereby determines that they will request. the <br />State Highway Department to make a survey of the possible relocation <br />of the aforesaid route. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section l: That the State Highway Department, State of Ohio is <br />hereby requested to make a survey of the relocation of State Route 252 <br />between the northerly limits and the southerly limits of the City of <br />North Olmsted according to the plans as submitted to the Planning Com- <br />mission of the City of North Olmsted and also submitted to the Council <br />of the City of North Olmsted, and further request that the Department <br />of Highways, State of Ohio keep the Council of the City of North Olmsted <br />informed as to any progress and any decisions made as to the possible <br />relocation of the aforesaid State Route 252. <br />Section 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the public peace, safety and welfare <br /> <br />
