<br /> <br /> <br /> <br /> j <br />r <br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 64- <br />BY UVV~u <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE MAYOR <br />OF THE CITY TO BE ELECTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the amount of time <br />"`~ necessary to effectively carry out the duties of Mayor of the Cfty of North <br />Olmsted is increasing steadily as the population of the City is augmented by <br />new citizens moving into the city, and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has determine d <br />that the compensation of the Mayor in the City of Ncrth Olmsted should be <br />increased commensurate with the compensation paid to elected Mayors in other <br />adjoining communities, and <br />WHEREAS, Council has accepted the recommendations of the <br />Finance Committee and hereby wishes to increase the compensation of the <br />Mayor elected in the municipal election to be held in 1965 , all in accordance <br />with Article IV, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of North Olmsted, County of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: Council does hereby establish, for the purpose <br />of nominating and electing the Mayor of the City and fixing the compensation <br />of the Mayor to be elected in the Municipal election in 1965 , that the salary <br />of the elective Mayor to be filled in the ee~ion in 1965 , shall be $8, 500.00 . <br />Section 2: That Ordinance No. 61-38, enacted February <br />21, 1961, and any other ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict with this <br />ordinance is hereby repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance. <br />Section 3: WHEREFORE, this Ordinance is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure end such emergency exists by virtue of the neces- <br />sity of notifying the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County of the salary of <br />the Mayor to be filled under the provisions of this Quarter in the November <br />election of 1965, in order for said Board of Elections to establish the filing <br />fees for the office of Mayor, which filing date expires March 3, 1965 <br />Section 4: WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect <br />immediately upon and after its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period <br />allowed by law . <br />w PASSED:~1(~jl , ~ ~9n~-/ r <br />Francis J.
