CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 64 ~'~,,,3 <br />BY <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE <br />DIRECTOR OF LAW OF THE CITY TO BE ELECTED, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the amount of time <br />"`°~" necessary to effectively carry out the duties of the Director of Law of the <br />~"~ City of North Olmsted is increasing steadily as the Qopulation of the City is <br />augmented by new citizens moving into the city, and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Committee of Council has determined <br />that the compensation of the Director of Law in the City of North Olmsted <br />should be increased commensurate with the compensation paid to elected <br />Directors of Law in other adjoining communities, and <br />WFIEREAS , Council has accepted the recommendations of <br />the Finance Committee and hereby wishes to increase the compensation of the <br />Director of Law elected in the municipal election to be held in 1965 , all in <br />accordance with Article IV, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of North Olmsted. <br />NOW,. THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of North Olmsted, County of Cuyahoga, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: Council does hereby establish, for the purpose <br />of nominating and electfr-g the Director of Law of the City and fixing the <br />compensation of the Director of Law to be elected in the Municipal election <br />in 1965, that the salary of the elective Director of Law to be filled in the <br />election in 1965 , shall be $8, 000.00 . <br />Section 2: That Ordinance No. 61-38, enacted February <br />21, 1961, and any other ordinance or parts of ordinances in conflict with this <br />ordinance is hereby repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance. <br />Section 3: WHEREFORE, this Ordinance is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure and such emergency exists by virtue of the neces- <br />sity of notifying the Board of Elections of Cuyahoga County of the salary of the <br />Director of Law to be filled under the provisions of this Charter in the <br />November election of 1965, in order for said Board of Elections to establish the <br />filing fees for the office of Director of Law, which filing date expires <br />March 3, 1965. <br />Section 4: WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect <br />immediately upon and after it s passage, otherwise, at the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br />PASSED: ~'QU ~ ~{. 14 <br />TEST: <br />~• <br />~;~._ <br />Margaret West, Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED: <br />Ralph .Christman, Mayor <br />i ~ ~"'lR.t~t,a~ : . ~, I ~' ~ <br />e.~:~, ~ <br />._ „ter,.: 'ar.rif •.
