CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 64- <br />AN ORDINANCE FIXING THE COMPENSATION OF THE <br />PRESIDENT OF COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH <br />OLMSTED TO BE ELECTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the amount of time <br />necessary to effectively carry out the duties of President o€ Council of the <br />ate'"` City is augmented by new citizens moving into the city, and <br />WHEREAS, the Finance Cmmittee of Council has determined <br />that the compensation of the President of Council in the Cfty of North Olmsted <br />should be increased commensurate with the compensation paid to elected <br />Presidents of Council in other adjoining communities, and <br />WHEREAS, Council has accepted the recommendations of the <br />Finance Committee and hereby wishes to increase the compensation of the <br />President of Council elected in the municipal election to be held in 1965 , all <br />in accordance with Article IV, Section 6 of the Charter of the City of North <br />Olmsted, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the <br />City of North Olmsted, County of Cuyahoga , State of Ohio; <br />Section 1: Council does hereby establish, for the purpose <br />of nominating and electing the President of Council of the City and fixing the <br />compensation of the President of Council to be elected in the Municipal <br />election in 1965 , that the salary of the elective President of Council to be <br />filled in the election in 1965 , shall be $2, 400.00. <br />Section 2: That Ordinance No. 61-38, enacted February <br />21, 1961, and any other ordinance or parts of ordinances in confiict with this <br />ordinance is her)sby repealed as of the effective date of this ordinance. <br />Section 3: WHEREFORE, this Ordinance is hereby declared <br />to be an emergency measure and such emergency exists by virtue of the neces- <br />sity of notifying the Bca rd of Elections of Cuyahoga County of the salary of <br />the President of Council to be filled under the provisions of this Charter in the <br />November election of 1965 , in order for said Board of Elections to establish <br />the filing fees for the office of President of Council, which filing date <br />expires March 3, 1965. <br />Section 4: WHEREFORE, this Ordinance shall take effect <br />immediately" upon and after its passage, otherwise, at the earliest period <br />allowed by law. <br />PASSED: ~ `' <br />~~ <br />Francis J.
