CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION N0. 64- <br />By: <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE <br />AND PUBLIC SAFETY TO AD~!ERTISE FOR BIDS FOR PORTABLE <br />TRUCK SCALES FOR USE WITHIN THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, <br />AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Council of the City of North Olmsted, has received <br />many complaints regarding the overloading of motor vehicles which travel upon <br />the streets of North Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, Council has been further advised by the Director <br />d Public Service and Public Safety that said overloading of motor vehicles <br />accounts for much of the damage done to streets within the City of North <br />Olmsted, and <br />WHEREAS, Council is determined to prohibit the unnecessary <br />wear and tear upon the streets of the City of North Olmsted, and therefore <br />maintain the streets in a proper condition for the citizens of the City of North <br />Olmsted and those who wish to traverse the same, <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That the Director of Public Service and Public <br />Safety be and he is hereby authorized to advertise for bids for portable trunk <br />scales in accordance with the plans and specifications now on file in his office, <br />Section 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />Qmergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health <br />safety and welfare by virtue of the fact that the streets within the City of <br />North Olmsted are being subjected to undue hardship and unnecessa ry wear and <br />tear caused by motor vehicles carrying loads which weigh in excess of those <br />permitted by the ordinances of the City of North Olmsted; WHEREFORE, This <br />Resolution shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, <br />otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law, <br />PASSED: <br />ATTEST : <br />Margaret TO West, Clerk of Council <br />APPROVED: <br />°t, <br />Ralph Christman, Mayor <br />~.~. ~ ~' <br />Francis J.
