CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO.~ 64 ~. <br />~~ , <br />BY <br />~ <br />__ <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING ORDINANCE NO. 2532, ENACTED <br />AUGUST 20, 1957 (CODIFIED ORDINANCES CHAPTER 141, <br />SECTION 141.02, PARAGRAPH a) ENTITLED THE COMPOSITION <br />AND CLASSIFICATION OF THE FIRE DEPARTMENT OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMSTED, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Safety Committee of the Council of the City of <br />North Olmsted has advised council that due to the increased population of <br />the City of North Olmsted that it is necessary -that the complement of the Fire <br />Department be changed to include four (4) Lieutenants rather than two (2) <br />as previously, and <br />WHEREAS, Council fn order to preserve the public safety <br />and welfare of the citizens of North Olmsted and to provide an efficient <br />Fire Department desires to increase the number of fire Lieutenants from <br />two (2) to four (4) , and <br />WHEREAS, Council has determined that the Fire Department <br />will operate at a more efficient and satisfactory level with the addition of <br />two additional fire departments. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT . 'ID by the Council of the <br />City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That Ordinance No. 2532, enacted t the <br />20th, 1957, (Title 5, Chapter 141, Section 141.02, entitled "Composition <br />and Classification) and reading as follows: <br />"(a) "The Fire Department of the City, shall be composed of the <br />following officers and other members, who shall receive such <br />compensation as determined by the Council by ordinances duly <br />passed and relating thert:to: <br />(1) One Chief of Fire Department <br />(2) One Assistant Chief of Fire Department <br />(8) Two Lieutenants of Fire Department <br />(4) Such number of regular and full time fireman as determined <br />by the Director of Public Safety, to be classified as follows: <br />Firemen First Class -regular and full time firemen having <br />continuous service of more than two years . <br />Firemen Second Class -regular and full time firemen having <br />continuous service of two years. <br />Firemen Third Class -regular and full time firemen having <br />continuous service of one year. <br />(5) Such number of part time firemen as determine d by the Safety <br />Director, not exceeding twenty-five. " <br />be and the same is hereby amended to read as follows: <br />Title 5, Chapter 141, Section 141.02, entitled "Composition <br />and Classification.
