<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 64-~_ <br />BY ~~~ <br />A RESOLUTION REQUESTING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />SERVICE AND PUBLIC SAFETY TO DIRECT THE CITY <br />ENGINEER TO COOPERATE WITH THE CITY ENGINEER <br />OF THE CITY OF WESTLAKE IN THE PREPARATION OF <br />PRELIMINARY DESIGNS FOR THE SPERRY CREEK <br />CULVERT AND THE COMMON STORM WATER DRAINAGE <br />PROBLEMS OF BOTH CITIES, AND DEGLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, because of the physical location and topography <br />of the municipalities of North Olmsted and Westlake each municipality <br />faces common and interrelated storm water drainage problems, and <br />WHEREAS, the representatives of the legislative authority <br />and administration of said cities have heretofore met and engaged in <br />preliminary discussions concerning common storm water drainage problems, and <br />WHEREAS, as a result of said discussions it has been decided <br />that the City Engineers of both municipalities should prepare preliminary <br />plans and designs for the placing of culverts in the water course of Sperry <br />Creek, which creek runs through the municipality of North Olmsted and <br />also the municipality of Westlake, and <br />WHEREAS, both the aforesaid municipalities have common <br />storm water drainage problems necessitating the joint cooperation between <br />both municipalities ,and <br />WHEREAS, it is desired to formalize the intention of this <br />city to have the City Engineer of the City of North Olmsted to cooperate <br />with the City Engineer of the City of Westlake in the preparation of plans <br />and designs for said common and interrelated Sperry Creek culverts and <br />storm drainage problems by the adoption of this resolution. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED By the Council of the <br />City of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That the City of North Olmsted hereby declares <br />its intention to have the City Engineer cooperate with the City Engineer <br />of the City of Westlake in solving the common problems which exist due <br />to the need of culverts in Sperry Creek and the storm water drainage problem <br />which now exists or which may hereafter be created because of the physical <br />location and topography of the respective cities. <br />Section. 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />public peace, health, safety and welfare of the City by virtue of the <br />immediate necessity to formally express the City's intention to cooperate <br /> <br />
