<br />CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 65-~ Page 3 <br />(3) Forty (40) feet for the semitrailer of a commercial <br />tractor and semitrailer combinations; <br />(4) Fifty-five (55) feet for the overall length of a <br />commercial tractor and semitrailer combination, <br />with or without load; <br />(5} Sixty (b0) feet for any other combination of vehicles <br />coupled together, with or without load; <br />(6) Thirty-five (35) feet for all other vehicles. <br />t <br /> <br />{c} He~ fight. No such vehicle shall have a height in excess of <br />thirteen (13) feet six (6) inches, with or without a load. <br /> <br />The length as prescribed by subsection (b) (3) of this section, <br />shall be the extreme overall 1'ength of such semitrailer and shall not include <br />load thereon, safety devices, refrigeration or heating devices attached to <br />the front of such :emitrailer, or safety devices or bumpers attached to the <br />rear of such semitrailer. In special cases, vehicles whose dimensions <br />exceed those prescribed by this section may operate, in accordance with <br />rules and regulations promulgated by the Ohio Director of Highways, upon <br />State routes. <br />This section does not apply to fire engines, fire trucks or <br />other vehicles or apparatus belonging to any municipal corporation or to the <br />volunteer fire department of any municipal corporation or salvage company <br />organized under the laws of Ohio or used by such department or company> <br />in the discharge of its functions. This section does not apply to vehicles <br />and pole trailers used in the transportation of wooden and metal poles <br />nor to the transportation of pipes or well-drilling equipment, nor to farm <br />machinery and equipment. The owner or operator of any vehicle, machiner <br />or equipment not specifically enumerated in this section but the dimensions c <br />which exceed the dimensions provided by this section, shall when operating <br />the same on the streets and highways of this Municipality comply with the <br />rules and regulations of the Director governing such movement, which rules <br />and regulations the Director may adopt and promulgate. Ohio R. C. <br />Sections 119. O1 and 119. 13, inclusive, apply to any rules or regulations <br />adopted under this section, or the amendment or rescission thereof, and <br />any person adversely affected shall have the same right of appeal as <br />provided in such sections. <br />This section does not require the State, the Municipality, <br />County, Township or any railroad or private corporation to provide suffi- <br />cient vertical clearance to permit the operation of such vehicle, or to make <br />any changes in or about existing structures now crossing streets, roads <br />and other public thoroughfares in this Municipality. (ORC 5577.05) <br />Section 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be <br />an emergency measure necessary for the immediate preservation of the <br />public peace, health, safety and welfare by virtue of the fact that Section <br />339.03 prior to this amendment is in conflict with the provisions of the <br />State Statutes, enacted by the 1965 State Legislature. WHEREFORE, this <br />Ordinance shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage, <br />otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />PASSED: 1 Z `%Z ! G <br />Francis J.
