RB3i}LVTIO~I NO. 65- <br />~~- <br />RESULUTION REQUESTING THE MERCHANTS THR(}UGHOUT <br />THB COfi~t?NITY OF NOit'TEi OLiYlSTED TO COOPERATE <br />WITH THE SBSQUI-CENTENNIAL C0MMI'1"T'BB IN THE <br />PURCHASING AND PUIiNIStiING OF S0t3QENIRS AND <br />OTHER OBJECTS C0rl-~lBATIl1~ 'PlIE 9U'E-CENTENNIAL <br />YEAR, 1965, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY, <br />WHERBAS, in the year 1465 the City of North Olmsted will be <br />celebrating the Sesqui-Centennial anniversary of its first permanent <br />sutler, and <br />WHERBAS, the Co~rmunity Council of the City of North Olmsted <br />desires to make said celebration a self-sustaining event financially, <br />and <br />WNF.REAS, the Community Council has advised Council that in <br />order to make the celebrating of the Sesqui-Centennial a self-supporting <br />event it is desirable and necessary that the merchants sell or trade <br />items which have been authorized by the Sesqui-Centennial Committee, <br />NOW, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of North Olmsted, <br />State of Ohio: <br />Section 1. That the merchants throughout the City of North <br />Olmsted be requested to notify the Sesqui-Centennial Committee prior to <br />purchasing souvenirs and novelties which commemorate the Sesqui-Centennial <br />Year, <br />Section 2. That the cooperation of the merchants throughout <br />the City of North Olmsted is requested in order that the Sesqui-Centennial <br />Comsiittee may be a self-supporting organization that will be able to pro- <br />duce for the benefit of the citizens of North Olmsted a celebration <br />worthy of the great City of North Olmsted. <br />Section 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an <br />emergency measure necessary for the health, safety and welfare of the <br />City of North 02msted by virtue of the fact that their cooperation <br />is necessary at this time in order that the Sesqui-Centennial Committee <br />can plan the future of the celebration; wherefore this Resolution will <br />take effect immediately upon its passage, otherwise at the earliest. <br />period allowed by law. <br />Passed: ~~ ~. r s~ S~ <br />Francis J.
