CITY OP NORTH OLM3TED <br />RESE)LtTltON NQ. 65 -~„~,_ <br /> <br /> <br />A RI~OLUTI4N SUPPQRTING Ti~B PAST EPl~C?R~`8 4~ <br />T'HB Ht3USE UNAIutCJ-~i ACIiVt'1'3 C~Cflr~w~'!"!E <br />AND U1t~NG THE t7C1~t'i'I1+ttX+3 t3F' ?!~~ <br />ANL7 RE3P4NSI8tLITtEB BEIN~i t'BRFC?R1~ED St? <br />BY S VALUABLE COtiGRE3~#3NAL G4MM'iT'!~ <br />AND T3LCLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, Communism is without a question a criminal conspiracy <br />active within our greet democracy pledged to undermine our basic way of life by <br />destroying our institution and government , and <br />WHEREAS, Communism exists and its t~mentum, w®ll financ~i, <br />strives by means of propaganda and other much more serious overt acts to eliminate <br />the fundamental freedoms of our society, and <br />WHEREAS, thre Courscii e~f the City of North Olmsted has been <br />advised that unknown forces. are attempting to limit if not eliminate altogether <br />the Hcws• Un-American Activities Committee, and <br />WHEREAS, the Council of the City of North Olmsted is desrious <br />of continuing the investigative powers and duties being performed br the Hcssse <br />Un-American Activitie~t Committee in their efforts to expose the sinister <br />Communist cor-apiracy jeopardizing our national security. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the Council of the City <br />of North Olmsted, State of Ohio: <br />Section 1: That this Council be placed on record as favoring the <br />continuation of the Congressional Un-American Activities Committee and further <br />urges an even more vigorous attack against alI conspiracy attempting to destroy <br />our great society . <br />Section 2: That the Clerk of Council is directed to forward <br />certified copies of this Resolution to the Speaker of the House of Repc+esent+e-tives, <br />United States Congress , Attorr~y General of the United States , the Governor of <br />the State of Ohio, and to the Attorney General of the State of Ohio. <br />Section 3: That this Resolution is hereby determined to b® an <br />~ emergency measure necessary for the preservation of the public welfare and <br />that such emergency exists by virtue of the fact that efforts are being made to <br />destresy an important Congressionai Committee charged with the protection of <br />our freedom, WHEREFORE, this Resolution shall take effect immediately upon its <br />_ passage, otherwise, at the earliest period allowed by law. <br />APPROVE <br />DATE: 20~,~ <br />Francis J.
