FLOOR SLOPES -The slope of the floor cn t he shallow side of <br />transition point shall not exceed one (ji f~?ot vertical to seven <br />(') feet horizontal. The transition point between shallow and <br />deep water shall not }~e more than five (S) fQet deep. <br />• <br />4. In climates sul~,ect tc freezing temperatures: the pool shell <br />and appurtenances, piping, filter system, pump and motor and <br />other components will be so designed and constructed to be <br />easily winterized and/or protected from deterious effect of <br />frost and freezing. <br />5. The height of top of underground type pools to be high enough <br />with the proper sloping, to prevent infiltration of surrounding <br />ground surface water into pool. <br />6. Inspections during construction. <br />(a) Underground work before backfill and coverup. <br />(b) Mechanical, electrical and heating before coverup. <br />(c) Final inspection before completed pool is put into operation. <br />7. Plans to be submitted for permit to include plot plan, structural <br />and mechanical plan, scale at least 1/8" to 1 foot. <br />• <br />• <br />• <br />8. Location of pools; Pools to be located in rear or side yards, <br />or indoors , but not in front yards . <br />Section 2; That Codified Ordinance Chapter i 345 , Section 1395 , `l5 <br />paragraph entitled "Mechanical" at subsection 2 reading as follows; <br />"MECHANICA,,,~ <br />SAND PRESSURE FILTERS - Sand filter systems shall be designed <br />and installed to operate at a rate not to exceed five (51 gallons per minute, per <br />square foot of filter area and to backwash at a minimum rate of ten (10) gallons <br />per minute, per square foot of surface area. <br />a. Filter tanks shall be fabricated to 1956 ASMi3 Specifications <br />for non-code pressure vessels, with the exception that standard <br />type dished and flanged heads may be used. Tanks shall be <br />built for a minimum of fifty (50) pounds workir>g pressure and <br />tested at 150 pSI. The filter underdrain shall have an effect?ye <br />distribution of at least twenty-five (25) percent of the cross <br />sectional area'of the tank. Tanks placed. underground shall k;e <br />steel plate at least 3/16 inches in thickness, with an approved <br />non-corrosive exterior coating, <br />b, Filter tanks shall be supported in a manner to prevent tipping <br />or settling.
