I,Zarch 7, 1950. <br />I;:inutes of a meetin6 of the Council of the <br />VillaL_?e of North Olmsted, 0. <br />Present were Clarence J. Oviatt, ]'v;ayor, E. Baurigardner•, F. Crider, <br />F. Iiatton, Wni. H. K.ramer, R. Paddock, B. Scott. <br />The minutes of Feb, 21, 1950 vaere read and approved. <br />P.r. Paddock reported that steel sidewalk forms would cost -?7.02 <br />a ten foot section and division plates ?,?'2.24 each. <br />T.s. paddock reported that he had conferred vrith PYir. Yieldinb and <br />that the C. E. Illuninating Co., would make a street LiehtinG <br />survey of Lorain Road and hutternut Ridge. , <br />l:r. Hatton reported that there yTere bad holes in Barton Road <br />north of Lorain, also in I,1aple Ridge. Mr. Crider reportEd bad <br />holes in Lorain Road. <br />The Sunoco Station at 27045 Lorain Road requested permission to <br />erect a sign that would han?; over the sicle?valk three and one-half <br />fEet. The I??ayor stated he rJOUld tell them to move it back six <br />inches. mhe I;Iayor advised that the dra8-line would be available for about <br />two months this year. <br />tir. Crider stated that the Ditch Corrimittee recommended that more <br />ditches be cleaned by hand, and that in the near future we buy <br />a vehicle that we can use on roacls, level ditch bank and clean <br />ditches,,r*. <br />The matter of the Ilarrison ditch Vras again brou&ht to the <br />attentian of Council. The matter V1A5 referred to the Solicitor. liIoved by crider seconded by ty7r. Kramer tYiat the C1Erk be <br />instructed to advertise for bids Dover P?oad tislatEr rLain. "Yeas" <br />Baumgardner, Crider, Hatton, Krainer, Paddock, Scott.. <br />Neko Service 6122 Stearns Road requested that their property <br />be rezoned from resiclence to retail business. The matter vras <br />referred to the Planning Commission. , <br />Mr. Baumgardner reparted that Ptorth.Olmsted did not have any <br />teama to use our hard ball diamond, and that the Fairvieya <br />Athletic Ass'n had requested perniission to use our ball diamond <br />vrith double headers on Sunday, that they ivould put the diamond <br />in shape and do the maintenance v-orlt on it. <br />Moved by TJr. BaurZardner seconded by Mr. Grider that permission <br />be grantECi the Fairview Athletic Ass'n to use the hard ball <br />diamond providin; they put it in shape and maintained it. "Yeas" <br />Bawngardner, Crider, Hatton, Kramer, Paddock, Scott. <br />P-Ar• Baumgardner reported that the lights on the soft ball field <br />were in bad shape, also that tvTO poles vrhich hold the liEhts <br />aere in bad shape. The BuildinS and Grounds Committee were <br />instructed to cet a complete report of the cost of fixing up the <br />soft ball field. <br />lvir. BaumGardner reported the need of a playground site in the <br />east end of the VillaCe, and suLgested that the RE8ional Plan- <br />ning Cornmission should recozrnnend the location. The Ylayor advised <br />he vrould take up the matter with the Regional PlanninG Commissiono - <br />I'lir. Hatton reported that the plarlning Commission recommended that <br />the matter of re-zoning the Boes;er, Nader, Bowen, Joecken, <br />Schneider properties be tabled until we have a 14aster Plan from <br />the Re?;ional Plannind Commission. - - <br />The matter of having the Regional Planning Comr.i3.ss3on make a <br />PZaster Ylan of the Village vras discussed. I???r. Kramer suggested <br />that the matter be put up to a vote of the people.. The matter <br />was referred to the Solicitor to see what could be done in regards <br />to puttins a 06000,00 bond issued for Reional Plaz,ning up to the <br />voters. <br />?_
