<br />A motion was made by Mr. Kramer and'seconded by Mr. Baker that the minutes of

<br />? A motion was made by Mr. Neubauer and seconded by Mr. Crider that' the minutes of "
<br />January 24, 1956 be approved as read. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer,

<br />Mr• Roger Clingnan appeared before Council regarding the petition for the instal-
<br />lation of a water main on 4ring Road. It was suggested that he contact the other
<br />property oy,ner.s, to see if they wauld be wi1].ing to go along with him and install
<br />the water main on a cash'basis.
<br />The Safety-Service Director stated that the gasoline, fuel oil and motor oil con-
<br />tracts will expire in May. _
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Kramer and seconded by Mr. Crider that the Safety-Service
<br />birector be authorized to advertise f or bids f or gasoline., fuel oil and motor, oi7..

<br />The Sa,fety-Service Director advised`that on March 12, 1956 tiie'will start to pick
<br />uA garbage and'non-burnable rubbish weekly, in one collection, and that all resi-
<br />dents will be notified by mail.

<br />afety-Service Director stated that the State Highway Department-will plant `
<br />trees alon7 the new Brookpark Extension in connection with the Arbor Day program,
<br />but that it will be the city's rzsponsibility to take care of the trees. -
<br />, Mr• Neubauer, Chaizman of the Transportation Coanmittee, reported that a meeting
<br />was held with the diivera' committee on Janu,ary 24th., at which time increase in
<br />rOVenue was discussed. A meetino was held on February l with the Fairview
<br />earcrnittee,' at which several mattero were taken up.,. A letter, written to the, Trans-
<br />portation Ccnmittee by Bus Driver A. Kreutzer, was read. There was also'a meeting

<br />held with the drivsrs on February 5tho
<br />Mr• Decker, Cha„irman of the Safety Canmittee, stated that a meeting was held on
<br />FebruaY'y 6th. He reported that the Coanm.ittee studied Ord. #1006 providing for the
<br />regulation and control of premises rented or used for errt,ertairnnent purposes., and
<br />theY felt it was a good ordinance and that it should be retained. The Clerk.read
<br />a C°mmunication from Chief Christman, requesting three additional patro]mea for the
<br />poliee Department.
<br />Z? was recommended that the Janitor be put on a monthly salary as "Custodian of
<br />??? Buildings." the matter was referred to the Solicitor and the Properties
<br />tee. .,
<br />1 Mr• MacDonald read the health report for the year 1955.
<br />A meeting was scheduled at 9 PM on February 14th with Mr. Schaeffer in connection
<br />wlth the proposed erection of an incinerator'to serve tYe western suburbs.

<br />Andrews, Director af Civil Defense, stated that 105 persons registered during
<br />the semi-surprise alert on Januarp 29th, includin.g boy scouts, Service Department
<br />"mpxayees, firemen and policemen and officials.
<br />The'rZaYor read a cammunication frnm Mr. H. A. Mahony regarding the sewerage `problem.
<br />?? also rePerred to the recent request of the County Auditor that our Building
<br />partment take pictures of buildings., and stated that we had been furnished with a
<br />'21-941-ra 2nd ten rolls of film. In this connection, it would also be necessary that
<br />the city purchase a set of plat books and keep them up-to-date. It was suggested
<br />that $ meeting be held with Mr. Cawells, to go into the ma,tter further.
<br />?o? ?=ayor stated that Brookpark Road was open, but that it was ?ecessary to make
<br />e change in the traffic lights and stap signs. .
