<br />Present were Dr. C. B. Lewis, Mayor, E. W, Baumgardner, President of Council,
<br />Harry M, Crider, R. L. Aecker, R. G. Knapp, W±?liam H. Kramer, R. G. Neubauer,

<br />A moticn was iaade by Mr. Neubauer and seconded bf Mr. Cr3der that the minutes of
<br />December 21, 1954 be approved as read. "Yeas" Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kra.mer,,
<br />Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />The Plar:ning Commission recommended that all sump punp holes be covered.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Neubauer an 3 seconded by Mr. Schwenk that the Solicitor
<br />prepare an ordina,nce requiring covers for swnp pump holes in basements. "Yeas"
<br />Cr3.der, Decker, Knapp, Kramer., Neubauer, Schwenk.
<br />Mr• Schwenk, Chairma,n of the Safe±y Committee, read the Fire Chief's report Yor
<br />3954. During the ? ear the Fire Depaxtment made 109 calls, 59 of ti,rhich t,rere fire
<br />Ca.lls. There was an est3mated lcss of $4,380,00 on an estimated valuation of
<br />$313,160.00. •
<br />Mr. Neubauer, Chairm.an of tre Utilities Co;nrnittee, stated that five street lights
<br />had been installed on West Park Drive.
<br />The Mayor read a coraraunicatien from The Ohia Municipal League with reference to :
<br />our letter addressed to Charles A. Carran relating to legislation to reduce the
<br />votes reauired for the approval of municipal opera.tine levies. He also read a
<br />letter fram Mrs. Ruth Kahler, in which she tendered;her resignation from the
<br />Recreation Comra3ssian effective December 31, 1954. 1'he Mayor referred fz:rther
<br />to the communication received fron the Disaster-telief Comarittee, and stated that
<br />they had agreed to talce ca.re oP repackaging the medical supplies which were
<br />opened by the nursest group, and we are to furnish two men to help with the work.
<br />The Mayor read a communication fkom the City of Berea, offering us the services
<br />of their Crime Investigating Laboratory being operated by Dr. Wesle? Ryan, on a
<br />fes basis.
<br />The Mayor appointed the following Council Comnittees for 1955:r

<br />The Mayor appoirted Arthur Wissmann as Street Comnissioner for cne year.

<br />The Mayor appointed Oscar HenningAr to the Zoning Board of Appeals for a three
<br />Year term.
<br />A motion was raade by Mr. Kramer and seconded by Mr. Neubauer, that the above
<br />aPpointment be approved. "Yeas" Crider, Decker, Knapp, Kramer, Neubauer, SchwE:zk.
<br />The Mayor appointed Harvey Levy to the Recreation Commission.For a five year
<br />term.
<br />A motion was nade by Mr. Scha,enk and seconded by Mr. Decker that the above ap-

<br />The Mayor appointed Mrs. Janet Mor3e to the Recreation Commission to fill the ?
<br />llnexpired term of Mrs. Ruth Kahler.
