<br />Mr. Schwenlc further reported that the Safety Committee feels tr.a.t our Police and
<br />Fire Departments are under-aanned, and that they will endeanor to work out a definite
<br />program whereby,both departments irill be increased in man-power. It will be neces-
<br />sary that this matter be tal:en up with the Finance Conmittee, anci it is hoped to have
<br />a definite plan that will cover a period of years. '
<br />The Clerk read a letter from Mr, Walter F. Kosicky, 1+795 Colwnbia Road, regarding
<br />the need for a sidewalk on Columbia Road between Lorain and Mastick ftoads.

<br />trip to Columbus to confer with the Secretary of Publie Employes Retirement Sy$tem

<br />Homes Week", North Olmsted Estates will turn over Georgette Avenue to the City of

<br />?o?ununication fram Mr. Endres, Division Engineer of Division #12 of the Department
<br />of Higilways informing us that the detail construction plans for Brookpark'Extension
<br />have been completed and are now being processed for centract letting. The acceptance
<br />of bids.for this im.provement is schedvled for October 14, 1954. The Mayor read a
<br />communication fron Cleveland Electric I11uminating Compary regarding the increase
<br />in the unit rate for street lighting, and giving notice of cancellation of the exist-
<br />ing contract, effective as of March 1, 1955.
<br />The Mayor appointed R, L, Decker, h'm. H. Kra:ner, Ralph G. Neubauer and Forrest G.
<br />Kitson to form the nucleus of a Citizens Committee for the express purpose of trying
<br />to`locate an area suitable for light industry, either by surveying what we have, or
<br />bp_annexing adjacent`land to the;south and west. He asked that the committee meet
<br />"ith him as`soon as possible, so that a workable committsa can be established.
<br />Mrs. Von Dqyke brought up the matter of motor vehicles passing each other in school
<br />areas. The ma.tter was referred to the Satety Cmnmittee.
<br />Mr. Curran inquired about-.the statement of ownership ordered from Cuyahoga Abstract
<br />Company,`in connection with the dedicat3on of Brookpark Extension back oP the.park. Mr. Kitson iziformed him as yet it had not been received, but tYiat it should be

<br />Mr. Schmeller showed a petition to Council signed by land awners and residents of
<br />North Olmsted vtho obJected to proposed Brookpark Extension being a limited accoss
<br />highway. .. ,
<br />Mr. B14ir of Kennedy Ridge Road asked i.f there had been any efforts made to get in-
<br />dustry out here. He was infonaed that we have_nothing set aside for light industry
<br />in our zon,ing ordinance.
<br />The Engi,nesr made the following report: The':estimatEd cost of the installation oY a storm sewer in Canterbury
<br />Road from Lorain Road to a drainage ditch 30001 northerly is $45,000.00 -

<br />The.estimated cost of a water main in Barton Road from the end of the exist-
