<br />Present were Dr. C. B. Lewis, Mayor., E. W. Batuagardner, President of Council,
<br />L• H• Baker, Harry M. Crider, R. L. Decker, William H. Kramsr, Bruce W. MacDonald,
<br />Ro G. Neugauer, Mr. G. H. Schwenlt was absent.
<br />Also present were F. G. Kitson.. Solicitor, James F. Votava, Safety-Service Dircctor,
<br />Everett Dean, Engineer# E. M. Christman, Clerk.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Kramer and seconded by Mr. Baker tha.t the minutes of
<br />Januai'Y Z, 1957 be approved as read. "Yeas" Baker, Crider., Decker., Kra.mer, Mac-
<br />D°nald, Neubauer.
<br />The Safety-Service Director appointed Ronald R. Carpenter and Theodore D. Culp
<br />as Firemen, effective February 1, 19570
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Pleubauer and seconded by Mr. Crider that the above appoint-
<br />ments be approved. "Yeas" Bakerp Cridsr, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer.
<br />The use of the dragline was discussed and the matter was referred to t he Streets, •
<br />Sidewalks, Sewers and Ditch Committees Finance Committee and Service Director. The
<br />Safety-gei•vice Director was instructed to write the County Commisgionsrs, requesting
<br />. the dragline for approximately two months.
<br />14r. Decker read the report of the Fire Department for.the year 1956.
<br />Xr• Crider referred to the meeting held with representatives of Floyd G. Browne &
<br />Associates and our Engineer John H. Cloyd on Wednesday afternoon, January 9th.
<br />Ordinanae #2425 was introduced by Mr. Crider. An Ordinance to prohibit the discharge
<br />ef raw sewage or treated affluent into the roadside ditches of the public streets
<br />withizi the City of North Olmsted, Qhio. It was moved and seconded that the statutory
<br />rule be suspended and t he Ordinance be read immediately the second and third times
<br />and put on its passage. The affirmative vote on said motion was as followss Baker,
<br />Crider, Decker, Kramers MacDonald, Neubauer. Thereupon the Ordinance was read the
<br />second and t hizd times and put upon its passage and.the affirma,tive vote thereon
<br />Was as followst Ba.kers Criders Decker., Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer.
<br />A motion was made by M.r. Crider and seconded by Mr. Baker that it is tha.intention
<br />°t Cotulail to take action to alleviate the condition that will exist from this ordi-
<br />nInce after report on master sewer plan is received. "Yeas" Bakerp Crider$ Deckerp

<br />The ma,tter of cleaning snow off side-walks was diacussed.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Crider and seconded by Mr. Baker that the Solicitor check
<br />into the matter of removing snow from sidewalks and prepare an ordinance. "Yeas"
<br />Baker, Crider, Deckers Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer.
<br />The Mayor appointed Arthur Wissmann as Street Commissioner for the year 1957.
<br />A motion was made by Mr. Crider and seconded by Mr. Kramer that the above appointment
<br />be approPed. "Yeas" Baker, Crider, Decker, Kramer, MacDonald, Neubauer.
<br />The Ma,yor appointed the following to the Librazy Advisory Board for a seven year "
