CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2013 — 115 <br /> By: Mayor Kennedy <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br /> CONTRACT WITH CINTAS CORPORATION TO PROVIDE <br /> UNIFORM RENTAL SERVICES TO THE CITY'S SERVICE <br /> DEPARTMENT EMPLOYEES, AND DECLARING AN <br /> EMERGENCY. <br /> WHEREAS, the City, per its collective bargaining agreement with the City's Service <br /> workers, is required to provide uniforms to employees who so request; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Service Director has had requests for uniform service from Service <br /> Department employees and, after obtaining quotes from three prospective vendors, recommends <br /> that the City enter into a contract with Cintas Corporation ("Cintas"), a Nevada corporation <br /> authorized to conduct business in Ohio, to provide such requested service; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council, acting upon the said recommendation, to <br /> authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with Cintas to provide said services to the City; <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: <br /> SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a contract with <br /> Cintas Corporation to provide uniform rental services to the City's Service Department <br /> employees. Said contract shall be in the form of the document entitled "Cintas Standard <br /> Uniform Rental Service Agreement," marked as Exhibit A, and attached hereto, with only such <br /> changes to said contract to be hereinafter made as are not substantially adverse to the City and <br /> which are approved by the Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not being <br /> substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the <br /> agreements by the Mayor and the approval of the agreements by the Director of Law. <br /> SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> immediately necessary for the preservation of the public peace, health, safety and welfare, of this <br /> City and for the further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go in effect immediately <br /> because the current agreement for uniform rental services for employees, required by a City <br /> collective bargaining agreement, is scheduled to terminate January 30, 2014, and notification is <br /> required; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of <br /> Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br /> Mayor. <br />
