CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2014 — 11 <br /> By: Mayor Kennedy <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE/ <br /> MAYOR TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE A WARD OF A CONTRACT <br /> TO PROVIDE CRACKSEALING ON VARIOUS STREETS AT VARIOUS <br /> LOCATIONS IN THE CITY,AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON <br /> FILE IN THE SERVICE DEPARTMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE <br /> MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO <br /> CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, <br /> AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> WHEREAS, the bid specifications for cracksealing of various City streets, as prepared by <br /> the City Engineer, are on file with the City of North Olmsted; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service / <br /> Mayor to advertise for bids for cracksealing on various streets in the City, and to further <br /> authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder, after Board of <br /> Control approval. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: <br /> SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety / Mayor be and he is hereby authorized <br /> to advertise for bids for cracksealing on various streets in the City of North Olmsted according to <br /> plans and specifications on file and that the Mayor further is hereby authorized, upon approval of <br /> the Board of Control, to enter into such a contract and execute the same with the lowest and best <br /> bidder. <br /> SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br /> for the reason that it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately in order to <br /> preserve, protect and repair weather damaged streets at the earliest possible time that weather <br /> permits; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of <br /> Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the <br /> Mayor. <br /> PASSED: /JLt (( First Reading.
