CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2014 - 21 <br /> By: Mayor Kennedy <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO PURCHASE A NEW <br /> FORD F750, MODEL LR V60-E70 TREE TRIMMING ARIEL TRUCK FROM <br /> ALTEC INDUSTRIES, INC. AT A COST OF $154,387.00, ALL THROUGH <br /> THE STATE PURCHASE PROGRAM; AND FURTHER AUTHORIZING <br /> THE MAYOR TO EXECUTE ALL DOCUMENTS NECESSARY TO <br /> EFFECTUATE SUCH PURCHASE,AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br /> WHEREAS, the "bucket truck" currently in use by the City of North Olmsted Service <br /> Department has reached the end of its useful life, despite efforts by the Service Department to <br /> keep this vehicle on the road; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Director of Public Service recommends that the City acquire a Ford <br /> F750, Model LRV60-E70 bucket truck from Altec Industries, Inc. at a cost of $154,387.00, as <br /> established on the state purchase program; and <br /> WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to purchase said <br /> vehicle, through the State purchase program, as a permitted exception to the competitive bidding <br /> procedure that otherwise would be required for such expenditures, and to further authorize the <br /> Mayor to execute any documents required for such expenditure, including, subject to approval of <br /> the Board of Control, if necessary, a contract with the lowest and best bidder selected among <br /> State qualified vendors. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: <br /> SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to purchase through the <br /> State Purchasing Program, which was established by R.C. Section 125.04, and which the City is <br /> authorized to participate in pursuant to the City Charter and Resolution No. 87-6, one (1) new <br /> Ford F750, Model LRV60-E70 bucket truck and related equipment for this vehicle from Altec <br /> Industries, Inc. at a cost of$154,387.00, all of which is described in the specifications on file in <br /> the Service Department. If necessary to effectuate any such purchase through the State <br /> Purchasing Program, the Mayor is hereby authorized to execute any contract and/or other <br /> necessary documents required by the authorized vendor(s), the State of Ohio, or the Charter. Any <br /> contract executed by the Mayor shall be in a form and substance consistent with the provisions of <br /> this Resolution and be approved by the Director of Law. <br /> SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and, <br /> additionally, it is necessary that this Resolution go into effect immediately due to the <br /> deteriorating condition of the current vehicle and the eleven (11) month order and construction <br />
