CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014 - 36 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH XEROX GOVERNMENT SYSTEMS, LLC. TO <br />PURCHASE AN UPGRADE AND ADDITIONAL LICENSING FOR <br />"FIREHOUSE SOFTWARE —A XEROX SOLUTION" FOR OPERATIONS <br />MANAGEMENT AND REPORTING REQUIREMENTS WITHIN THE <br />DIVISION OF FIRE, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted Division of Fire currently operates Firehouse <br />Software to assist in operations, run data and submit mandatory State and Federal reporting <br />requirements; and <br />WHEREAS, a recent upgrade proposal was submitted for five (5) years at an amount <br />exceeding the threshold for legislation ($5,000.00) or $16,015.00 ($3,203.00 / year); and <br />WHEREAS, a one (1) year proposal is $8,668.00; and <br />WHEREAS, an alternate software program would require a complete overhaul changing <br />the way the City runs data, submits mandatory reporting requirements to the State and Federal <br />Government, and would negatively affect the capability of retrieving past data; and <br />WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to execute <br />any necessary contract documents to continue in this contractual relationship. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That this Council does hereby authorize the Mayor to execute contract <br />documents with XEROX Government Systems, LLC. for Firehouse Software, a copy of which is <br />attached hereto and marked as Exhibit "A." The contract shall be substantially similar to the <br />contact attached hereto with only such changes as are deemed not adverse to the City of North <br />Olmsted and as otherwise are approved by the Director of Law. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br />further reason it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order that the City <br />may continue operating Firehouse Software under licensing requirements effective May 1, 2014; <br />and further, provided it receives the affirmative vote of two - thirds of all members of the Council, <br />it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />P,l SSED: <br />First Reading: <br />Second Reading. <br />Third Reading. <br />Conimiltee: <br />
