CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2014 — 41 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT WITH THE NORTH OLMSTED CITY SCHOOL DISTRICT <br />TO PROVIDE FOR FUNDING OF THE SCHOOL RESOURCE OFFICER <br />(SRO) FOR FISCAL YEAR 2014 -I5. <br />WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Police Department has, for several years, provided a <br />police officer to be assigned to the North Olmsted City School District to perform duties as a <br />School Resource Officer (SRO) with remarkable success; <br />WHEREAS, the City has provided financial support for the SRO program in the form of <br />wages and benefits as well as securing funding assistance for drug abuse prevention and <br />education programs; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an <br />Agreement with the School District and accept funding from the School District for the SRO <br />program. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into an Agreement <br />with the North Olmsted City School District, by and through its Board of Education, to provide <br />funding for assignment of a North Olmsted Police Officer to serve as a School Resource Officer <br />(SRO). Said Agreement shall be substantially in the form marked as Exhibit "A" and attached <br />hereto, with only such changes therein as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are <br />approved by the Director of Law. The Mayor is further authorized to enter into future contracts <br />with the North Olmsted City School District for the SRO program, provided that said future <br />contracts are substantially similar to the contract attached hereto. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution shall take effect and be in force from and after the <br />earliest date provided for by law. <br />PASSED. -/ c't rp 1 z- i "( <br />First Reading.- J /A r `i <br />Second Reading :}�'� <br />Third Reading; <br />Committee: _j)//j)(J c �I , �- <br />
