WHEREAS, this Council desires to amend Chapter 749 of the Codified Ordinances in <br />order to improve licensing requirements and clarify that state licensed massage therapists are <br />exempt from local licensing requirements. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Chapter 749 "Massage Establishments" which presently reads in its <br />entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached to this Ordinance and incorporated by <br />reference as if fully rewritten herein, shall be amended and, as amended, shall read in its entirety <br />as such amendments are displayed by Exhibit B, which is likewise incorporated by reference as <br />if fully rewritten herein. <br />SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with <br />this Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. Conflicting or <br />inconsistent provisions of any Ordinance shall be corrected at re- codification. <br />SECTION 3: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and further <br />for the reason that it is necessary that this Ordinance go into effect immediately so as to <br />immediately enact reasonable safeguards to protect against human trafficking and prostitution, <br />and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two - thirds of all members of Council, it <br />shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: 90l'S <br />�l,_ First Reading: <br />Second Reading: l -c: i <br />Third Reading., <br />Committee: <br />ATTEST:.
