CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2015—27 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A TWO YEAR CONTRACT WITH LEXIPOL, LLC, IN ORDER TO PROVIDE FOR DEPARTMENT POLICY MANUALS AND DAILY TRAINING BULLETINS FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED POLICE DEPARTMENT,AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, the North Olmsted Police Department has solicited the engagement of Lexipol LLC based on its ability to provide customized Departmental Policy Manuals and based on its performance of similar services for the Cities of Westlake, Rocky River and Lakewood; and WHEREAS, Lexipol LLC will provide general orders, directives and training bulletins to implement departmental policy, documentation of best practices, and update the policy manual pursuant to clearly established legal principles based on federal and state law. North Olmsted Police Department has solicited the engagement of Lexipol LLC based on its ability to provide customized Departmental Policy Manuals and based on its performance of similar services for the Cities of Westlake, Rocky River and Lakewood; and WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety that Lexipol LLC be engaged in order to maintain Police Department compliance with lawful standards, improve Departmental efficiency, reduce risk to public safety and limit liability exposure of the City and its Police officers; and WHEREAS, it is accordingly the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into two (2) year renewal contracts with Lexipol LLC to provide for customized departmental policy manual and related services. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA,AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter into a two year Agreement with Lexipol LLC in order to provide for customized departmental policy manual update and related services for training and directives for the North Olmsted Police Department. The contracts shall be in form and substance substantially similar to the attached Agreement for Use of Subscription Material, marked as Exhibit A, and attached hereto, with only such changes to be hereinafter made in said contract as are not substantially adverse to the City and which are approved by the Director of Law. The character of any such changes as not being substantially adverse to the City shall be evidenced conclusively by the execution of the Agreement by the Mayor and the approval of the Agreement by the Director of Law.
