MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> MARCH 17,2015 <br /> Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Hemann, Kearney, <br /> Limpert, Schumann and Williamson <br /> Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Law Gareau, Director of Finance Copfer, <br /> Clerk of Council Gallo, Director of Safety/Service Glauner, Director of <br /> Planning/Development Wenger and Director of Human Resources Farver <br /> Absent: Council Member Brossard <br /> Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br /> 5200 Dover Center Road,North Olmsted, Ohio. <br /> Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br /> Allegiance. <br /> The Council meeting minutes of March 3, 2015 were approved as written. <br /> The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br /> this evening: Resolutions 2015-17, 2015-18, 2015-19 and 2015-20. <br /> Councilman Barker made a motion pursuant to ORC Section 149.43(e)(1) to designate <br /> Clerk of Council, Marie Gallo, to act on behalf of City Council to attend training sessions <br /> provided by the Attorney General of the State of Ohio regarding Council's duty to <br /> provide access to public records and to perform such other obligations relating to public <br /> records as may be required by law. The motion was seconded by Councilman Kearney <br /> and passed unanimously. Clerk of Council, Marie Gallo, designated as Council's public <br /> records designee pursuant to ORC Section 149.43(e)(1) by a vote of 6-0. <br /> REPORTS <br /> Mayor Kennedy: <br /> • He wished everyone a happy St. Patrick's Day. <br /> • The city has teamed up with Chick-fil-A to plan a Spirit Day in support of the <br /> Bicentennial. He encouraged everyone to visit Chick-fil-A for breakfast, lunch or <br /> dinner on Wednesday, March 25, 2015 and mention the Bicentennial when <br /> placing your order and Chick-fil-A will donate 20% of sales to Bicentennial <br /> programs. <br /> • The North Olmsted Police Department had recently put Naloxone (Narcan) for <br /> reversing heroin overdoses into the cruisers. Last week the city saved someone's <br /> life for the first time using Narcan. Heroin has become an epidemic in the United <br /> States, as well as throughout Cuyahoga County. Over the last week, the City of <br /> North Olmsted had three suspected overdoses with one save and two deaths. This <br /> is occurring throughout the country, and no city is safe from the effects of heroin. <br />
