CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br /> RESOLUTION NO. 2015-57 <br /> By: Mayor Kennedy <br /> A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO A <br /> CONTRACT WITH DAVEY GOLF, A DIVISION OF DAVEY TREE <br /> EXPERT COMPANY, TO PROVIDE MAINTENANCE CONSULTING <br /> SERVICES TO THE SPRINGVALE GOLF COURSE, AND <br /> DECLARING AN EMERGENCY <br /> WHEREAS, longtime Springvale employee Phil Bova recently announced his <br /> resignation from employment with the City of North Olmsted; and <br /> WHEREAS, Phil's departure creates a significant void in terms of knowledge of <br /> maintenance and grounds keeping matters at the Springvale Golf Course; and <br /> WHEREAS, Mayor Kennedy met with Davey Golf and discussed a proposal to provide <br /> grounds keeping and maintenance assistance, on a month to month basis, for the City of North <br /> Olmsted Springvale Golf Course; and <br /> WHEREAS, the Administration recommends that the Council approve a month to month <br /> contract to provide consulting services for golf course maintenance at Springvale. <br /> NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY,AND STATE OF OHIO: <br /> SECTION 1: That the Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to enter into a contract, the <br /> essential terms of which are attached hereto and marked as Exhibit "A," with Davey Tree to <br /> provide consulting services to the City of North Olmsted, on a month to month basis. The <br /> contract shall contain the essential terms set forth on Exhibit A and such additional terms as are <br /> deemed not adverse to the City of North Olmsted, as otherwise are approved by the Director of <br /> Law. <br /> SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br /> immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and for the <br /> further reason that continuous, uninterrupted, professional maintenance is imperative to the <br /> ongoing successful operations at Springvale, and further provided it receives the affirmative vote <br /> of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its <br /> passage and approval by the Mayor. / <br /> PASSED: C& 4914S- <br /> First Reading: / 1( i s <br /> � Second Reading: ftAJ�" +\ C/ <br /> Third Reading: f <br /> Committee: (aJSf. ii(1.0 <br />
