Whereas: Nel Bratton has given her time and talents to the Scouts in North
Olmsted for the past nine years; and
Whereas: One of the important fundamentals that Nel teaches the girls is to
help the community in various ways. She is actively involved with
the Biddulph House in North Olmsted and works with the North
Olmsted Foundation; and
Whereas: Nel organized the first Service Unit overnight at the Biddulph
House last fall. For many, it was their first camping experience.
She challenged the girls to learn new skills and be open to new
experiences. The overnight also included a service project where
lots of yard work was completed to help leave the place better than
they found it.
Whereas: Nel is serving as a Community Liaison for her Service Unit and
helps identify opportunities and ways that the girls can help our
community and the environment. She also advises our new leaders
and scouts and shares her years of scouting resources with the
Service Unit. She works hard to keep the traditional scouting skills
and opportunities available for all of our scouts; and
Whereas: Nel Bratton is a valued asset to the service and is always willing to
lend a hand to other leaders and girls. Leading by example, she
empowers her scouts to make the world a better place and is
deserving of the title of Mrs. Scouting.
Now, therefore I, Kevin M. Kennedy, Mayor of the City of North Olmsted, on behalf of
our community, do hereby recognize with honor Nel Bratton and commend her on her
outstanding achievements and dedicated service to the Scouts and to our community.
Congratulations Mrs. Scouting 2015!
In Witness Whereof, I have hereunto set my hand
and cause the Seal of the City of North Olmsted to
be affixed this second day of June, 2015.
Kevin M. Kennedy, Mayor
