95 Department of Planning and Development 179.07 <br /> 179.05 CLERK OF COMMISSIONS. <br /> There is hereby created the position of Clerk of Commissions, which shall be appointed <br /> by and be answerable to the Director of Planning and Development. The Clerk of <br /> Commissions shall be required to attend all meetings, prepare agendas and minutes of such <br /> meetings, and perform other duties consistent with expediting the duties performed by various <br /> City boards and commissions. The Director of Planning and Development may from time to <br /> time require the Clerk of Commissions to perform additional duties consistent with the <br /> position. (Ord. 2010-63. Passed 6-15-10.) <br /> 179.06 DIVISION OF BUILDING. <br /> There is hereby established a Division of Building within the Department of Planning <br /> and Development. The Division of Building shall be headed by a Building Commissioner who <br /> shall be responsible for its organization and supervision. The Building Commissioner shall be <br /> appointed by and be answerable to the Director of Planning and Development. The <br /> qualifications for the Building Commissioner shall be those as established in rules and <br /> regulations enacted and amended from time to time by the State of Ohio, Board of Building <br /> Standards, as they relate to certification of local Building Departments and Building Officials. <br /> (a) Duties. The Duties of the Building Commissioner shall include the supervision <br /> of all personnel of the Division of Building, the issuance of all building permits, <br /> and the enforcement of all building and zoning regulations. The Director of <br /> Planning and Development may from time to time require the Building <br /> Commissioner to perform additional duties consistent with the position. <br /> (b) Employees. The staffing of the Division of Building is hereby established and is <br /> reflected in the organizational chart for the Department of Planning and <br /> Development contained in Section 179.99(b), which, as it pertains to this <br /> Division only, is incorporated herein as if fully rewritten. The Mayor shall <br /> establish the compensation of all employees of the Division within the salary <br /> ranges established by City Council, to the extent that such compensation is not <br /> otherwise established by contract, or federal, state or local law. <br /> (Ord. 2010-63. Passed 6-15-10.) <br /> 179.07 DIVISION OF ENGINEERING. <br /> There is hereby established a Division of Engineering within the Department of <br /> Planning and Development. The Division of Engineering shall be headed by a City Engineer, <br /> who is a civil engineer registered as a professional engineer in the State of Ohio. The City <br /> Engineer shall be appointed by and be answerable to the Director of Planning and <br /> Development. <br /> (a) Duties. The City Engineer's duties and responsibilities shall be to: <br /> (1) Supervise all personnel of the Division of Engineering. <br /> (2) Advise the Mayor, the Council, and administrative departments in <br /> connection with all civil engineering matters of the City related to <br /> engineering, zoning, building, sewers, development and repair of <br /> property in the City, including but not limited to the streets therein. <br /> (3) Examine and approve all sidewalks, grading, draining, curbing, paving, <br /> placing of lines, sanitary sewer, storm sewer and water curb connections <br /> and all other utilities of any nature within the street right of way of City <br /> streets, alleys, roads and boulevards. <br /> (4) Examine and approve or disapprove all grading, draining or construction <br /> within the City, examine and approve or disapprove all plans for <br /> subdivisions and the installation or improvement of private streets, <br /> sanitary sewers, storm sewers and appurtenances, and to examine and <br /> approve or disapprove all lot splits and consolidations. <br /> ')f%1 Z D..«1................a <br />
