CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2016 — 34 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 139 <br />OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF <br />PUBLIC SAFETY" IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT ORGANIZATION <br />CHANGES WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMEGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, this Council via Ordinance 2010-66 established the organization of the <br />Department of Public Safety, including Organizational Charts, for the purpose of organizing <br />and / or stating the employee complement within the Department of Public Safety; and <br />WHEREAS, additional organizational changes were implemented via 2011-40; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayor Kennedy, with the advice of Director Glauner, desires to implement <br />further organizational changes within the Department; and <br />WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety desires to re -name the position of Secretary to <br />the Director of Public Safety to Administrative Secretary; and <br />WHEREAS, it is determined by this Council that the position of Administrative <br />Secretary to the Director of Public Safety is a "secretary" to a Director or Department Head as <br />that title is used in The City of North Olmsted Charter at Art. VI, The Civil Service Commission, <br />§3, Duties, (A) (7). <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to implement the organizational and <br />departmental change recommended by Mayor Kennedy and Director of Public Safety Glauner as <br />set forth herein. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That Chapter 139 which presently reads in its entirety as set forth in <br />Exhibit A, which is attached to this Ordinance and incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten <br />herein, shall be amended and, as amended, shall read in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit B, <br />which is likewise attached to this Ordinance and likewise incorporated by reference as if fully <br />rewritten herein. <br />SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with <br />this Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. Conflicting or <br />inconsistent provisions of any Ordinance shall be corrected at re -codification. <br />
