CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2016 — 34 BY: Mayor Kennedy AN ORDINANCE AMENDING AND RE-ESTABLISHING CHAPTER 139 OF THE ADMINISTRATIVE CODE, ENTITLED "DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC SAFETY" IN ORDER TO IMPLEMENT ORGANIZATION CHANGES WITHIN THE DEPARTMENT, AND DECLARING AN EMEGENCY. WHEREAS, this Council via Ordinance 2010-66 established the organization of the Department of Public Safety, including Organizational Charts, for the purpose of organizing and / or stating the employee complement within the Department of Public Safety; and WHEREAS, additional organizational changes were implemented via 2011-40; and WHEREAS, Mayor Kennedy, with the advice of Director Glauner, desires to implement further organizational changes within the Department; and WHEREAS, the Director of Public Safety desires to re -name the position of Secretary to the Director of Public Safety to Administrative Secretary; and WHEREAS, it is determined by this Council that the position of Administrative Secretary to the Director of Public Safety is a "secretary" to a Director or Department Head as that title is used in The City of North Olmsted Charter at Art. VI, The Civil Service Commission, §3, Duties, (A) (7). WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to implement the organizational and departmental change recommended by Mayor Kennedy and Director of Public Safety Glauner as set forth herein. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That Chapter 139 which presently reads in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit A, which is attached to this Ordinance and incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein, shall be amended and, as amended, shall read in its entirety as set forth in Exhibit B, which is likewise attached to this Ordinance and likewise incorporated by reference as if fully rewritten herein. SECTION 2: That any ordinance, or part of ordinance, in conflict or inconsistent with this Ordinance, is, to the extent of any such conflict or inconsistency, repealed. Conflicting or inconsistent provisions of any Ordinance shall be corrected at re -codification.
