CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED ORDINANCE NO. 2016 — 58 BY: Council Member Barker & Council President Jones AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE TRAFFIC CONTROL FILE OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED TO ELIMINATE THROUGH TRAFFIC IN THE RIGHT HAND LANE OF CLAGUE ROAD AT ITS INTERSECTION WITH LORAIN ROAD, FOR NORTHBOUND AND SOUTHBOUND TRAFFIC THEREBY MAKING SUCH LANES "RIGHT TURN ONLY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. WHEREAS, it is the recommendation of the Director of Public Safety that the right hand lane for northbound and southbound traffic on Clague Road at its intersection with Lorain Road be right turn only and, necessarily, to amend the Traffic Control File accordingly; and WHEREAS, Chapter 305 of the Traffic Code provides for the maintenance of the Traffic Control File, which files can be amended only by ordinance duly adopted by this Council. NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND THE STATE OF OHIO: SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized and directed to amend the Traffic Control File of the City of North Olmsted to render the right hand lane for northbound and southbound traffic on Clague Road at its intersection with Lorain Road right turn only. SECTION 2: That the Director of Public Safety be and he is hereby authorized to cause the removal and simultaneous replacement of turning lane signage and other markings, as appropriate and consistent with ODOT specifications, at the location so described. SECTION 3. That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure immediately necessary for the public health, safety and welfare and for the further reason that it is necessary to promptly address traffic control hazards; and further provided it receives the affirmative vote of two thirds of the members of council, it shall take effect upon its approval by the Mayor.
