CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2016 — 71 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO ENTER INTO AN <br />AGREEMENT FOR THE NORTH OLMSTED BIKE RACK INITIATIVE <br />GRANT PROJECT WITH THE OHIO DEPARTMENT OF <br />TRANSPORTATION AND THE NORTHEAST OHIO AREAWIDE <br />COORDINATING AGENCY, AND DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the Transportation for Livable Communities Grant Program provides <br />funding for, among other things, programs like the City of North Olmsted Bike Rack Initiative; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, the City in 2015 applied for $2,000.00 for its North Olmsted Bike Rack <br />Initiative and such grant was awarded; and <br />WHEREAS, a $500.00 City match is required for this grant; and <br />WHEREAS, the Ohio Department of Transportation / Northeast Ohio Areawide <br />Coordinating Agency require legislative approval to enter into agreements to receive such funds; <br />and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Mayor to enter into an <br />agreement for the Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative Grant in order to obtain <br />funding for the North Olmsted Bike Rack Initiative. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Mayor be, and he hereby is, authorized to accept the <br />Transportation for Livable Communities Initiative Grant and to execute a contract with the Ohio <br />Department of Transportation / Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency for such grant. <br />SECTION 2: That this Resolution is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare and for the <br />further reason that it is necessary that this legislation go into effect immediately in order to <br />process the grant during Council's summer recess; and further provided that it receives the <br />affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it shall take effect and be in force <br />immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: (c,U o , �' D ( 6 First Reading: 7 4d u ( 6 <br />Second Reading: ;6 jrp l <br />Third Reading: f�,(,1i11 <br />Committee: <br />1 <br />
