CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2016 — 72 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A <br />CONTRACT TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE <br />PINE BASIN DRAINAGE PROJECT, AS DETAILED IN THE <br />SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE WITH THE CITY ENGINEER, AND <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE <br />BOARD OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH <br />THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. <br />WHEREAS, The North Olmsted Board of Education ("BOE") is owner of record of <br />certain real estate located at 4267 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 and further <br />identified as Permanent Parcel Numbers 232-23-021 and 232-23-022 in the Office of the <br />Cuyahoga County, Ohio Fiscal Officer (hereinafter collectively "Site" � and <br />WHEREAS, The Site presently has located thereon a storm water collection channel, <br />traversing the site from its northernmost boundary to its southernmost boundary; and <br />WHEREAS, The City has determined that the area in and around the Site is underserved <br />by the current storm water collection system and has further determined that the easternmost <br />portion of the Site can serve as a suitable location for a storm water retention basin, providing <br />relief to the storm water collection system during surcharge conditions experienced during rain <br />events; and <br />WHEREAS, The City and BOE have entered into negotiations for the acquisition of a <br />portion of the Site by the City, but have been unable to reach agreement on price; and <br />WHEREAS, notwithstanding disagreement on the price term for the portion of the Site <br />needed for the project, the BOE has indicated that the City can commence utilization and <br />construction on a portion of the Site, pending final determination of a price term; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to <br />advertise for bids for award of a contract to provide construction services for the Pine Basin <br />Drainage Project and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and <br />best bidder, after Board of Control approval. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />
