CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED RESOLUTION NO. 2016 — 72 By: Mayor Kennedy A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A CONTRACT TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE PINE BASIN DRAINAGE PROJECT, AS DETAILED IN THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE WITH THE CITY ENGINEER, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR THE SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. WHEREAS, The North Olmsted Board of Education ("BOE") is owner of record of certain real estate located at 4267 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio 44070 and further identified as Permanent Parcel Numbers 232-23-021 and 232-23-022 in the Office of the Cuyahoga County, Ohio Fiscal Officer (hereinafter collectively "Site" � and WHEREAS, The Site presently has located thereon a storm water collection channel, traversing the site from its northernmost boundary to its southernmost boundary; and WHEREAS, The City has determined that the area in and around the Site is underserved by the current storm water collection system and has further determined that the easternmost portion of the Site can serve as a suitable location for a storm water retention basin, providing relief to the storm water collection system during surcharge conditions experienced during rain events; and WHEREAS, The City and BOE have entered into negotiations for the acquisition of a portion of the Site by the City, but have been unable to reach agreement on price; and WHEREAS, notwithstanding disagreement on the price term for the portion of the Site needed for the project, the BOE has indicated that the City can commence utilization and construction on a portion of the Site, pending final determination of a price term; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public Service to advertise for bids for award of a contract to provide construction services for the Pine Basin Drainage Project and to further authorize the Mayor to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder, after Board of Control approval. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO:
