Public Hearing of 10-11-2016
Councilman Barker followed up asking how wide it was running east to west. To which
Director Wenger replied 194 feet. She noted though that measurement went to the center
line of the road, so it also includes half of the street, the tree line and sidewalk.
Wolfgang Goebel
25734 Timber Cove
North Olmsted
Mr. Goebel approached to speak. He wanted to know if the map was so top secret that the
audience was not allowed to see it. He stated it would be nice to have a handout or the
map visible in such a way that everybody, not just council could see it.
Councilman Brossard responded to him apologizing handouts were not ready tonight, but
there is nothing secretive about the process, it's been very transparent and most of the
members in the audience had seen some version of the map dozens of times.
Mr. Goebel responded that this was his first time coming to a City Council hearing and if
people here have seen it enough, surely council has had the opportunity to see it more and
he'd like to see the map as well.
Councilwoman Williamson asked Director Wenger if the plan could move forward
without the rezoning given that a large portion of the property will not be used for
commercial development.
Director Wenger responded that not as it is currently designed. She said much of the
property is being relied on for stormwater function, if that parcel were not part of the
development it would make the project infeasible. She also added that she does not
normally make presentations at public hearings and pointed out the exhibit was not hers.
She said this was an awkward format to try to share with Council and the audience and
next time they will know to prepare handouts.
MISCELLANEOUS BUSINESS
Councilman Kearney made a motion to excuse the absence of Councilwoman Hemann.
The motion was seconded by Councilman Limpert and passed unanimously.
Councilwoman Hemann excused 6-0.
With the agenda being completed and there being no further business to come before
Council, President Jones adjourned the Public Hearing at approximately 7:55 p.m.
Chuck Massarolo, Clerk of Council
Nicole Dailey Jones, P d t of Council
E
