MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />NOVEMBER 15, 2016 <br />Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Barker, Brossard, Hemann, <br />Kearney, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson <br />Also Present: Mayor Kennedy, Director of Finance Copfer, Director of Law Gareau, <br />Director of Safety & Service Glauner, Human Resources Director Gallo, <br />and Clerk of Council Massarolo, <br />Absent: Director of Planning & Development Wenger <br />Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:00 p.m. in Council Chambers, <br />5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. <br />Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of <br />Allegiance. <br />The Council meeting minutes of November 1, 2016 were approved as written. <br />The Special Council meeting minutes of November 3, 2016 were approved as written. <br />A motion was made by Councilman Kearney to remove Ordinance 2016-122 from the <br />agenda. The motion was seconded by Councilman Barker and passed unanimously. <br />Ordinance 2016-122 was removed from the agenda by a vote of 7-0. <br />The following legislation will be considered for passage under suspension of the rules <br />this evening: Second Reading — Ordinance 2016-123 and Ordinance 2016-124. <br />REPORTS <br />Mayor Kennedy: <br />• Wished everyone a Happy Thanksgiving and said City offices would be closed on <br />Thursday, November 24 and Friday, November 25, 2016 in observance of <br />Thanksgiving. <br />• The Recreation Center is gearing up for winter events. They have a pass called the <br />Winter Freeze. It goes on sale November 25. It is a 14 day pass for people coming <br />home for the holidays or from school. If anyone knows someone who is coming <br />home and looking for a place to work out, direct them to the Recreation Center. <br />• The Arts Commission's Annual North Olmsted Noel will be held Sunday, <br />December 4th from 2 to 5 p.m. at the North Olmsted Community Cabin and will <br />feature holiday theme food vendors, kid's crafts, outdoor games, live music, <br />reindeer, dog sleds, a bonfire and an appearance from Santa Claus. <br />Director of Law Gareau: <br />• The Northeast Law Directors Association filed an amicus brief in State ex. rel. <br />Huttman v. City of Parma in the Ohio Supreme Court. The City of Parma is <br />
