CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2016 - 134 <br />By: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PLANNING AND <br />DEVELOPMENT TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE AWARD OF A <br />CONTRACT TO PROVIDE CONSTRUCTION SERVICES FOR THE <br />SPRINGVALE IMPROVEMENT PROJECT PHASE I AS DETAILED IN <br />THE SPECIFICATIONS ON FILE IN THE DEPARTMENT OF PLANNING <br />AND DEVELOPMENT, AND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, FOLLOWING <br />APPROVAL OF THE BOARD OF CONTROL, TO CONTRACT FOR THE <br />SAME WITH THE LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER. <br />WHEREAS, Phase I of the Springvale Master Planning Study include the following <br />proposed improvements: <br />• A 7,020 square foot maintenance facility to house all the grounds keeping <br />equipment and tools as well as provide an office and support areas for the grounds crew/staff. <br />The building has been designed with the needed room to store all the current valuable grounds <br />equipment, as well as a safe and dry environment to maintain and repair the equipment; and <br />• A Partial renovation of both levels of the Ballroom building, adding a full <br />commercial kitchen with the capability to serve 600 guests, a service elevator, an overlook <br />balcony off the ballroom, a catering kitchen on the lower level, and new golfer restrooms; and <br />• The addition of a pavilion and improvement of associated patio areas. The <br />pavilion will have the capability of serving two parties of 200 to 400 guests at the same time. <br />Also included in the pavilion will be a bar and indoor grilling area; and <br />WHEREAS, the necessary specifications to competitively bid for said improvements <br />have been prepared and are on file in the Department of Planning and Development; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Planning and <br />Development to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to make such improvements, as set <br />forth in said specifications, and to further authorize the Mayor, following approval by the Board <br />of Control, to enter into a contract with the lowest and best bidder. <br />NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br />NORTH OLMS TED, COUNTY OF CUYAHO GA, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Planning and Development be and she is hereby <br />authorized to advertise for bids for the award of a contract to construct improvements at <br />Springvale Golf Course and Ballroom, as detailed in the specifications now on file in the <br />
