MINUTES OF THE SPECIAL MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED MARCH 15, 2017 Present: Council President Jones, Council Members Brossard, Hemann, Kearney, Limpert, Schumann & Williamson Also Present: Director of Law Gareau and Clerk of Council Massarolo Council President Jones called the meeting to order at 8:15 p.m. in Council Chambers, 5200 Dover Center Road, North Olmsted, Ohio. Members of the audience were invited to join Council in the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance. Council President Jones discussed the process of how North Olmsted City Council selects replacements to fill a term. Council President Jones opened the floor to accept nominations for the appointment of Paul Barker's vacant Ward II seat. The nominations were as follows: Kearney Dan Rahm Williamson Pat Kelly Hemann Chris Glassburn Seeing no other nominations, Roll Call was as follows: Brossard Dan Rahm Kearney Dan Rahm Williamson Pat Kelly Hemann Chris Glassburn Limpert Dan Rahm Schumann Dan Rahm Council President Jones announced that Daniel H. Rahm is the new Ward II Council Member with a vote of 4-2. Councilman Schumann asked for a moment of personal privilege. I just wanted to say I was really impressed with all of the candidates that came before us. We were really tough on you. We are supposed to be. I thought everyone held their ground really well. I would encourage every one of you to run. If you don't run or if you don't make it, I would encourage you to stay involved. There are a bunch of Commissions that we are looking for volunteers for, there are a lot of volunteer opportunities.
