CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />RESOLUTION NO. 2017 - 42 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF PUBLIC <br />SERVICE TO ADVERTISE FOR BIDS FOR THE REPLACEMENT <br />OF THE SKYLIGHTS AT FIRE STATION NO. 1; FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR, SUBJECT TO AWARD BY THE <br />BOARD OF CONTROL, TO ENTER INTO A CONTRACT WITH THE <br />LOWEST AND BEST BIDDER, AND DECLARING AN <br />EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the skylights at Fire Station No. 1 are leaking and in need of <br />replacement; and <br />WHEREAS, it is the desire of this Council to authorize the Director of Public <br />Service to advertise for bids, and, to further authorize the Mayor, upon award by the <br />Board of Control, to enter into a contract for the replacement of the skylights with the <br />lowest and best bidder. <br />NOW THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMS TED, CUYAHOGA COUNTY, AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Public Service be and he is hereby authorized <br />to advertise for bids for replacing the skylights at Fire Station No. 1; and that further, <br />upon award by the Board of Control, the Mayor be and he hereby is authorized to enter <br />into a contract with the lowest and best bidder for said replacement. <br />SECTION 2: That this Ordinance is hereby declared to be an emergency measure <br />immediately necessary for the preservation of the public health, safety and welfare, and <br />for the further reason that it is immediately necessary in order to protect the health and <br />safety of fire fighters to replace the skylights at the earliest possible date, and further <br />provided that it receives the affirmative vote of two-thirds of all members of Council, it <br />shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its passage and approval by the Mayor. <br />PASSED: dot\ 7,O 1 FirstReading: <br />Second Reading:✓s�, <br />Third Reading. 5✓5 <br />Committee: <br />
