CITY OF NORTH OLMSTED <br />ORDINANCE NO. 2017 - 86 <br />BY: Mayor Kennedy <br />AN ORDINANCE APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE CALL <br />PROCESSING / VOICE MAIL SYSTEM PROJECT AND FURTHER <br />AUTHORIZING THE DIRECTOR OF HUMAN RESOURCES TO <br />SOLICIT PROPOSALS FOR THE CALL PROCESSING / VOICE <br />MAIL SYSTEM AND, SUBJECT TO APPROVAL OF THE BOARD <br />OF CONTROL, ADDITIONALLY AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO <br />ENTER INTO A CONTRACT FOR SUCH SYSTEM, AND <br />DECLARING AN EMERGENCY. <br />WHEREAS, the City of North Olmsted has an aging telephone system and is <br />exploring an upgrade to its communications systems to include, potentially, voice over <br />internet protocol (VOIP); and <br />WHEREAS, the aging system is inefficient and past its life expectancy; and <br />WHEREAS, Director of Human Resources Marie Gallo, with Council <br />authorization, obtained the services of a consultant to provide needed expertise in the <br />replacement process; and <br />WHEREAS, upon the recommendation of said consultant, the City is in need of a <br />Call Processing / Voice Mail System; and <br />WHEREAS, Mayor Kennedy and Director Gallo recommend that this Council <br />authorize Director Gallo to proceed with the RFP process in order to obtain a Call <br />Processing / Voice Mail System that best fits the City's telecommunications needs. <br />NO W THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED B Y THE CO UNCIL OF THE CITY <br />OF NORTH OLMS TED, COUNTY OF CUYAHOGA AND STATE OF OHIO: <br />SECTION 1: That the Director of Human Resources be and she is hereby <br />authorized to solicit or request proposals for the Call Processing / Voice Mail System <br />project, in accordance with the specifications now on file in her office and that, upon <br />approval by the Board of Control, that the Mayor is hereby authorized to enter into an <br />agreement for such services with the most qualified persons / firm to provide the services <br />at a price that is fair and reasonable to the City. <br />SECTION 2: That to provide for the expenses of the City of North Olmsted for <br />the Call Processing / Voice Mail System Project, the sum of $160,000 from the <br />
